Dark angels vs Necrons. The malacant device

Polythemus here to bring you a new comic batrep! The ancient Malacant device has been found on the planet Axos. What secrets does it hold? The Imperium must know! The Dark Angels strike force has been dispatched, with planetary aid being provided by a Storm Eagle of the 4th company. The evil necron threat has been active in the sector, and their interest in the device is dangerous. Can the Dark Angels get to the Malacant Device first?!

Things that went well

Storm eagle and its large blast. Caused a ton of wounds.

Hammernator squad in LRC good combo and worked well vs those wraiths. Inspite of the lrc dying it did its job just the way it needed to

 

Things that didn't

Terrible squad placement i should have just kept everyone together.

 

Placement of the dread was terrible. Should have moved him turn 1 to be away from the wall or on top of it. He didnt get to skyfire once.

 

Not depositing the storm eagle cargo turn 3 was a mistake. If they had been on the board i could have really cleaned up.

 

When i broke the necron squad i should have just let them run away. This wouldve meant when they regrouped they could only hit on sixes.

 

Final turn i should have assaulted the warrior squad with just belial and assaulted the lone overlord with the libby and two deathwing members. Would have gone much better. Wasnt thinking at the time. Its tough when you get games so infrequently.
