The long form way to use a spoiler tag is to click on the "Special BBCode" button (when editing a message) select "Spoiler" from the drop-down list, then follow the instructions.

You can also just type in "spoiler" and "/spoiler" (replacing the quotes with square brackets) if you're comfortable with that sort of thing. (That's what I do, but I started using HTML back when Netscape was still a thing.)

Either way, you end up with spoiler-style content safely hidden from those that don't want them. smile.png Anyway, as you were. <3

He didn't kill him with ease, he used ninja jet pack tricks to beat him. Lucius was out-techniqued.

That's what I remember happening too. I mean, I remember that they were both of equal level but it was similar to the fight with Loken that someone beat Lucius through "dirty fighting."

To be honest, I never ranked Lucius ahead of Sevatar, Sigismund, or Khârn in "Get into close combat with me and I will decorate my War plate with your innards."

Lucius is easily the most overrated of the heresy era warriors.

For such a great warrior he is fairly easily tricked by ''dirty'' fighting.

I think Lucius can claim whatever he wants, he strikes me as someone who's more like Eidolon (sp?) than Tarvitz.  (I'm not sure if that is supposed to be very obvious, I haven't been able to read any books after Descent of Angels)

Besides, (well, I'm not sure if I need to use spoilers for this one but I guess I will anyway)...

Lucius lives to 40K, so anyone he fights has to either run away/disengage or end up becoming Lucius.  Does Sharrowkyn become Lucius in the book?

You can now, since with after death upgrade from Slaanesh, you can bet he can go toe to toe with any of them.

Actually in my view the fact that Lucius lives to 40K due to the if you kill him you will become him nonsense works against his reputation a a great warrior.

At least Khârn wins or loses on his own strength not  a god constantly reincarnating him (yes i know that Khorne has made him immune to Psykers and raised him from the dead during the siege of Terra)

Well, ya, of course.  I only meant he was constantly bragging, and his brags, like Eidolon's, weren't exactly true.

So, is Slaanesh doing the resurrection thingy with him yet?  I mean, do we get to see Sharrowkyn turned into Lucius, or do we have to wait for that?

Khârn's recovery from his apparent demise from Loken's hand looks Khornish as well. Khârn doesn't have any superiority to Lucius in that regard.

I think that there is a case of Maybe his his sstartes body saving him from death that time.

The only time Khârn has been canonically killed is during the siege of Terra.

Khârn can be killed yet other then his death during the sieg of Terra has survived for 10 k years on skill bloodlust and Khorne favor alone.

Lucius cannot be killed without becoming him.

No. Apparently Lucius' body was intact enough that it was taken to the EC's Apothecarion. After being declared dead, he woke up to find Fabius' new lab being destroyed by some of his mutants and Fabius commenting on how Lucius was dead.

You know, if Lucius is the greatest master of the sword ever, why did he just randomly grab a whip off a dead guy instead of another sword? I understand that by that point he was neck deep in Slaanesh corruption, so logic does not necessarily enter into it, but still.

Weak sauce.

Well, the whip he carries around in 40k has to come from somewhere, and I guess all the characters in C:CSM from the Legions are getting their wargear now (except Abbadon's sword and claw).

That or it becomes the whip he now has, or he trades it for the whip he now has....etc.

@ Brother Captain:

Oh, I understand that he has to get a whip at some point during the Heresy so he can have one in 40K.

It's just that in every appearance he's made in the Heresy, he's wielded two swords and never shut up about what an awesome swordsman he is, and even when he lost a blade in battle he replaced it with another sword. Then he just randomly picks up a whip, a weapon which requires completely different techniques than a sword.

If McNeil had thrown something in where someone with a whip put up a good fight against Lucius, he witnessed Corax using his Power Whip in battle and was inspired, he grabbed a whip because he'd lost his swords and was surprised how useful it was, Lucius decided that using two swords made his fights too easy and wanted to handicap himself...any of those would be accepatable reasons, but as it stands his thought process seems to be "Oooh! Whip. Me like."

Which, to be fair...Slaanesh.

Sad but true.

It jumped out at me on my second read thru of Angel that although Fulgrim went back to using the Phoenix Blade and gave Anathame to Fabius Bile (BAD IDEA!!!) that at one point McNeil had him using the Laer sword...the very same Laer sword GRAHAM MCNEIL wrote got passed on to Lucius in The Primarchs, Fulgrim, and bloody Angel Exterminatus!
