Lord_Caerolion
The problem I have with Sharrowkyn is he's amazing at everything. He's a perfect shot with his super-stealthy-sniper-rifle which is even capable of killing Primarchs with a single hit, apparently, he personally constructed his own awesome-sauce super-stealthy-jump-pack, his armour has been personally modified to make it near silent and show no heat signatures, and he's also able to wail on a character who's supposed to be one of the best duellists in all the Legions. People say that Sharrowkyn beat Lucius because Lucius has the flaw of pride, but what exactly is the flaw of Sharrowkyn? He's amazing at ranged combat, has a super-jump-pack, has apparently got at least techmarine levels of training, given he created his own wargear, or at least modified it, and is amazing at close combat. He never really shows any character flaws either. So far, he reads a little like a Mary Sue. Dunno where that supposed "super" sniper skill and rifle come from since his rifle just incapacitated Fulgrim and his shot was nothing spectacular given he wasn't in much hurry and his target was nearly static. As for character flaws, who cares? He's just a side character with limited role in this book. Didn't expect a showcase of his personality. Kol Saresk
And don't forget that Sharrowkyn is so good at hiding that a Salamander can see him. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271072-nykona-sharrowkyn/page/3/#findComment-3307194 Share on other sites
Vesper
and he's also able to wail on a character who's supposed to be one of the best duellists in all the Legions. "Supposed" is the key word here, it seems. Let's face it, he's pretty worthless. EDIT : In fact, the BL Lucius is the perfect tabletop equivalent. You pay for one of the best swordsman of the galaxy, and you end up with a guy who get killed by every SM sergent in the game. DarthMarko
There was a thread in the past "Who could beat Lucius" - I answered "Some random (not well known) hero from a random legion..." Beer for me....Also there are a million veteran astartes, and all are badasses - it is a little naive to think that one can't be beaten by someone...Even Sigismund... The point is no matter how good you are - there is always someone better... Vesper
Multiple beers for you, in fact ! The thing is, Lucius has (had ?) a reputation. You'd assume he's pretty good... And you'd be wrong. I do really think they should kill him for good, at that point in time, he's pretty bad at being a marine, and pretty bad at being an interesting character. Trel
Trel, what is your current opinion of Sigismund? I haven't seen enough of him in the novels or codices to get a feel for him as a well-developed character. He's a great warrior by reputation, but I haven't seen it yet. I honestly have a hard time telling him apart from pre-Heresy Khârn. Wade Garrett
Am I the only one who thought that Fulgrim collapsing and starting to babble about seeing a light at the end of a tunnel was less "Nykona's super special unique rifle is a Primarch killer!" and more "Man. III Primarch sure did become a drama llama after turning to Slaanesh."?
