Blood angel Air support Allies

Hey guys! I've been wanting to add in some Blood to my Dark angels, In the form of a Stormraven! (the Nephilm and Dark Talon just don't compare, really) I'm thinking of getting a cheap HQ and some scouring Jump-pack troops, so could I get some suggestions?

(want to keep it under 500 pts)

In this situation go with the Librarian. Opt for Shield (5++ cover save to BA units, if can while embarked the Raven gets it too) and Rage (the RAS will hit on 3s). Either flamer or Meltagun on the RAS (if Plasma is required, go for the pistol option).

I would opt for the storm raven with hurricane bolter sponsons - always worth in IMO, as you can fire 5 (4 + POTMS) weapons a turn and they put out 12 TL shots at 12"

That's 230 up front, another 100 for the libby without a jump pack - he's not a 100 point Epistolary like the dark angels libby, but he can still give some buffs with Divination.

Put the rest in an assault squad with flamer and PW on he sarge - 120 for a unit that can drop in or assault from the raven and take an objective late game. And 50 points extra!

yea, but there inlies the problem that It is way to similar to the way I play DA (greenwing!) whereas the Blood angels are a little different and have a different type of troops that kinda suck in both codexes.

Also, maybe the assault marine sergeant should have 2 infernus pistols?

Blood Angels Ravens can use Skies of Blood to get out of the Raven even in flyer mode.  I doubt vanilla marines will get SoB or Blood Strikes.  Non JP models can do it but each scatters 2 D6 and automatically take a dangerous terrain test, its a lot safer with jump pack units.  Jump packs mean only one D6 scatter and no terrain tests unless you land in terrain. Nominate a point the raven has travelled over and roll as if they were deepstriking if any model in the unit cannot be placed you do not use the misshap table the whole unit is destroyed.

Very useful to run onto an objective in T5, max 6 inch scatter 3 inch objective radius. 60% chance of rolling 3 or better on run.  As mentioned shield is great it radiates a 5+ cover save and means your raven never has to jink plus if the raven is destroyed you get to take 5+ cover on the S10 blast

Keep the unit cheap and cheerful maybe an axe on the Sgt or a meltabomb and Shield on the Libby maybe Blood Lance as its always good to use to shoot after getting out of the raven.

Why jump pack troops? They aren't particularly good to begin with, death company is a lot better value and as a bonus more uniquely BA than assault marines.

Stormraven + 10 DC (not with JP) and a librarian with codex powers is 500 on the dot.

Not sure you want to put that much in single flyer though...

well, what's the difference between them? and I still want scouring

DC have WS5, relentless, built in FnP and FC, fearless and 4 attacks base on the charge. Quite a steal for 20 pts.

Not scoring but they are a denial unit so they can give you the linebreaker VP and cancel an enemy home objective.

DC have rage relentless bolsters and fnp and access to DC dreads but are not scoring while our marines have the red thirst roll. IMO you are better off with non-jp dc due to cost. I use tacs with a priest very effectively myself.
