WIP update, Working on my Beakie Sternguard

I also quickly started one of the terminators, he was sitting on my desk looking at me and i couldn't resist!

Hes only a tester, as i like the idea of terminators paint scheme being a little different.

Hey All, a quick update with the first terminator, im pretty happy with him and during the process i think i have gained an idea for the banner!!

Anyway here he is

Looking good, brother! I like the hazards on the Beakie helm.

The Terminator looks nice and striking, the only thing that doesn't sit right with me is the muted colour of his helm, it's very pastel in contrast to the black and yellow. That is however just me, I'd go for a more striking red.

Other than that,

I wasnt to sure on the red myself I was thinking I might do the whole squad then if the reds to underwhelming I would just put the next brightest red on them.

Should have some more on the way tonight :)

If you haven't already, perhaps a red wash might deepen the colour, rather than have to go over it again with a darker red paint?

I shall try that when i get around to him again, just found some devastator weapons in my bitz box so im seeing if i have enough spare parts for a dev squad :D hahha the joys of bitz box's ey? :P

I can agree on the red wash, I use Baal Red on the gore on my chainweapons and my bolt pistol housings and it makes them pop. 

 

I did post up a picture of what I have left to paint on my table so far in my thread, two ten man squads and a Vindicator. Will get cracking on Sunday!

I'm doing the rest of the terminators some time over the next two weeks depending on uni commitments, ill get around to re doing his head then!!

Then I've got to buy another ten man assault squad and two Storm Ravens, then I'll be done.

quick update i found a metal Darkangels chapter master, just used him as mainly a cloak tester for practice as i plan on doing my scouts soonish

Update time, I have completed Squad Viprus! (mostly just need to do the bases properly and touch up a few things)

Small attempt at fluff for the squad.

Greetings brothers!

Sorry for the delay in posting, had to have an emergency surgery on my eye this past Tuesday, had an unknown lump on my eye that they were not to pleased with so the cut the little bugger out. Hopefully I get some more information on what exactly it was soon!!

But anyway onto the next sternguard squad, Who is currently down a member waiting on a replacement, the weak fool fell to a pitiful Xeno ( my cat ^.^)

Now i will do a full squad shot when i find a replacement model, so far my only spare options is the pointing beakie sternguard, but im not to sure on the model. Ill get around to it soon enough

And finally got around to fixing the red on my test terminator

And my first Assault Marine (now i attempted to use P3's yellow wash then dry brush of Averland Sunset then agrax earthsade on the shoulders, dont know what i was thinking but ill not be attempting that again, and just as a context so show you, his helm has just 1 light layer of the was after the base coat, wholy feth thats a bright wash ahahha)

But he shall be fixed up when his brothers get started!

I really like the pose on the assault marine (I like the poses on all of them, actually), and the blue on the exhausts. I get the feeling he just landed and is about to purge some filthy traitor or Xeno with holy flames. The wash is a tad bright, but that's always a risk trying something new.

Quick update before i head to bed, did the majority of the yellow base coating on my Assault marines tonight, they should be completed by the weekend!

A vehicle Update!! So i spray based my 2 rhino's and Razorback, these being the first actual vehicles ive painted except for a Ultra's dread way back, they are definitely not the best around and hopefully before i get around to my Landraider and Razor back i can improve, i may pick up 2 more for practice .

(Razor Back in Magnetized so i can swap between Lascannons and Heavy Bolters)

Rhino's are mostly done except for damage/weathering and a few little touch ups.

as i see it, Rhino's would go through hell hence mine are an attempt at being a bit beaten up, both i got off ebay for 10$ and the guy who had them must love his super glue :s there not overly good, but since there for the Tactical squads they dont have to be perfect

Rhino Alpha, Been in service for hundreds of years and seen countless battles since being looted from a destroyed Black Templar warzone, Still hated for this transgression the Black Templar's have a great hate towards the Marines Malevolent to this very day.

Rhino Gamma, Was once a proud predator tank who brought death to the enemy of the Imperium, after being almost completely destroyed the decision to salvage it and convert it back to a STC Rhino, while not having side exits may be a draw back to the troops it is seen as only a slight hinderance as loosing the machine entirely would have been a devastating blow to the Marines Malevolent.

(The right side exhaust vents of this one still needs to be completed i was planning to do a quartered red and Yellow scheme to incorporate the Chapter Banner)

My Assualt Marines are nearing completion as well should be another update tonight if all goes well!

FRESH START:

I have decided that the original yellow was a bit too dull for my taste. I have changed the yellow for these fellas and from here on it will be the new stuff, ALL of the old models will be repainted so expect them to pop up randomly over the army during the WIP for the rest.

Its been to long and since ive updated and im sorry brothers, Uni / life has been a bit hectic over the last couple of weeks/ getting ready to move again due to :cussty circumstances.

But anyway While browsing the forum i noticed Grotsmasha's Kit bash chaplain thread so i thought i may as well give it a shot!

Here is the completed chaplain, Jump pack is only blu taked, when i get a new drill bit im going to magnitize it for ease!
