Storm Lords Brotherhoods Project

Hi all,

This is my first project log on B&C, so I have decided to make it a stupidly big one.
I shall be painting up as many Storm Lords Brotherhoods as my sanity will allow me.
Currently on the painting table are:

First brotherhood:-
Captain, Chaplain and Librarian in Terminator armour.
3 squads of 5 tactical terminators.
1 squad of 5 assault terminators.
3 dreadnoughts.
2 squads of 5 vanguard vets.
5 squads of 5 sternguard vets.

Second brotherhood:-
Full company of Marines (6 tactical squads, 2 assault squads, 2 devestator)
Full command squad with razorback.
2 dreadnoughts.
Librarian and chaplain.
2 rhinos.

Fourth brotherhood:-
Full command squad.
2 tactical squads.
2 devestator squads.

Eighth brotherhood:-
Full command on bikes.
Biker librarian and jump pack chaplain.
2 full bike squads.
5 land speeders.
3 jump pack assault squads.

Tenth brotherhood:-
Scout captain.
25 scouts.

Miscellaneous:-
Chapter master, 3 honour guard and Land Raider Redeemer
Predator and techmarine.

I have been involved in this hobby since rogue trader days and have yet to finish any army I have started. I have decided to amalgamate my stupidly large marine collection into one chapter in the hopes that this will stop my butterfly ways.

I will update squad by squad, but for now here is the group shot:

Nice to see Storm Lords as they aren't too common

 

Question: are you going to be painting the different company marines with the appropriate helmet colours as described in their codex Ultramarines (2nd Ed) debut? (white for first, red for third, green for fourth etc)

Hi Leofric, thanks for your comment:

I am intending to paint the helmets as the different company colours as per Insignium Astartes (not sure how well the all-red and all-white helmets will look with the halved scheme). I have deviated slightly from the scheme by giving the marines black backpacks instead of quartered as I feel they suit the darkened scheme better.

This is where I am up to so far: (all base-coated and ink-washed - the final colour scheme will be "grimdark" as opposed to "cartoony-bright")

2 Dreadnoughts with Assault Cannon, Heavy Flamer and Twin-linked Heavy Flamer;

1 Venerable Dreadnought with Plasma Cannon;

2 x 5 Sternguard Squads with Heavy Flamer, Heavy Bolter, Combi-Plasma and Combi-Melta, Power Sword and Power Fist;

1 x 5 Terminator Assault Squad with 2 TH;

1 x 5 Terminator Squad with Assault Cannon and 2 x Chainfist;

Captain with Terminator Armour and Twin-Thunder Hammers;

Predator with twin Lascannon and Heavy Bolter Sponsons;

Vindicator with Dozer Blade;

Land Raider Redeemer with Storm Bolter;

from Codex: Space Marines of total value 1625 points on or before August 15th. Success will bring eternal glory to the Storm Lords Chapter and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of Shame until the year-end

Quite pleased that my ETL II vow is moving along nicely. Bases and chapter symbols will be completed after the vow has been finished.

These guys are wonderful. The definition between the white and red is solid and its great to see such an under represented Chapter done so well.
