Chronotonic
Knights of the Lions Blood Original Armour SchemeKnights of the Lions Blood New Armour Scheme after the Necron Incident When the Knights of the Lions Blood were created by the High Lords the original black armor worn by the Dark Angels during the Heresy was adopted by the new Chapter. After the Necron Incident and then the Fallen Incident the Knights of the Lions Blood have followed suit of their parent chapter and repainted their armor green to show that they to have fallen from the eyes of the Emperor and their Primarch and must strive harder to reclaim their honor. Created during the Forth Founding, the Knights of the Lions Blood were drawn from the Gene-seed of El' Jonson the Primarch of the Dark Angels. Being one of the oldest Chapters the Knights of the Lions Blood have a Honor Roll as long as some Second Founding Chapters. Coming on the heels of the Horus Heresy the Knights of the Lions Blood were quickly inducted into the Unforgiven Inner Circle. But instead of the 1st company being those who brought the Fallen into custody and the 2nd company running them down with varying levels of knowledge. The Knights of the Lions Blood decided to do things differently. It would not matter if you are one of the most decorated officers of the Chapter what mattered was the marines reaction to many things. At any point in time during their history there would be between seventy-five and one hundred and forty marines within the Circle. They felt that having marines throughout the Chapter they would be able to better move if the situation arises instead of having to wait for the 1st company to mobilize. This also allowed the Company to continue with their operations without hindering the overall theater of war. Thus the Knights of the Lions Blood while being an Unforgiven Chapter when they arrive in a war-zone they are not shunned like other Unforgiven Chapters but are welcomed with open arms. Of course all the members of the Chaplains office are members of the Inner Circle as well as the high ranking Librarians of the Chapter who have been inducted in. This allows a basis to work with judgement of future Inner Circle Members. Unfortunately after the Necron Incident and the Fallen Incident of the Knights of the Blood are down to only five members for the Inner Circle in their entire Chapter. The last two Chaplains from the Third Company as well as the three surviving Veterans under Chapter Master Tellos' command, and Chief Librarian Carius. Before the loss of the Knights of the Lions Blood Homeworld their planet was a world similar to Caliban with Orders of Knights but instead of the Knights riding out to defend the people, they would ride out and attack other keeps of other Knight Orders who they had felt slighted their honor When the Knights of the Lions Blood arrived they found their lost Caliban. A lush planet that was easily ten times the size of Terra with only the South Pole an arctic waste land. Already the Adeptus Mechanicus had set up shop in the Southern Pole region with a top secret classification. Upon arrival of the Knights of the Lions Blood Fleet they were met by representative of the Mechanicus who agreed that the Knights of the Lions Blood could establish their Fortress Monastery upon the condition they do not trespass their no fly zone and protect the base if called upon. On top of them being able to use the planet for their Homeworld the Knights of the Lions Blood would have direct access to Mechanicus forge plants in the Southern Region. The only notice the Knights of the Lions Blood had of the destruction of their Homeworld was the seismic tremors they felt and registered on their devices. Within hours the entire planet was overrun. They fought a retreating battle with the loss of a majority of the chapter. They are now a fleet bases chapter as they rebuild taking the fight to the Necron tomb worlds destroying them before they become active again The Necron Incident were the Knights of the Lions Blood were almost wiped out to the man. The Necron Incident as it was later called by the Knights of the Blood, by this time the Necrons had played a part against the Knights of the Blood on many battlefields usually to a stalemate or where the Knights would have a fighting retreat as they saved what they could. It was a rare day when the entire Chapter minus a few seconded Deathwatch Marines were stationed on their Homeworld. A handful of ships were patrolling the main warp point for the system while the rest of the fleet all five Battle Barges and a dozen strike cruisers were stationed over head with various support ships as well as AdMec's own transport and other style ships. This was to be a feast to celebrate the beginning of their Chapter so many millennium ago. Members of the Ordo Sicarius, Ordo Xenos, and Ordo Sepulturum as well as the ranking Generals of the PDF and AdMec Fabricator-General were all in attendance. Already the festivities were in full bloom, spirits were relaxed and high hopes were had by all for the future of the chapter and the sector which they patrolled. Of course the planet being a Homeworld of the Chapter of the Fabled Astartes there are few more guarded places. Alas the trouble started in the one location where the Astartes were not in control. The AdMec station in the southern region broadcasted a seven second emergency broadcast before the seismic detection machines registered a 9.7 on their scales which meant that something horrible had happened at the station. The festivities ended the Chapter Master and the ranking Ordo Sicarius member removed themselves and heading straight for the war-room. They had made it halfway there before the defense cannons on the Fortress Monastery began firing on fast moving skimmer units. Within moments the southern wall was over run by Monoliths, Heavy Destroyers, Pylons, as well as host of warriors of various sorts. the Chapter Master was forced to his Battle Barge Lions Roar with a majority of the First Company. From seemingly nowhere the Necron Fleet appeared and opened fire upon assembled fleets of the Knights of the Lions Blood, AdMec, PDF fleets, and various Inquistor Vessels, few were able to do any real damage, three of the Battle Barges, Jonson Retribution, Angels Fury and Lions Redemption were lost within the first five hours. This fight allowed the Astropaths send a general request for aid. The Chapter Masters Battle Barge and three Strike Crusiers were commanded to head for the local jump point by the Captain of the Forth as the Chapter Master had been wounded earlier in the battle. While making their way there they were engaged by six Cairn Class Tomb Ships all ships and hands were lost at this battle. Mean while Veteran Sergeant Accirori began his way towards the planet to assist where he could. Upon his arrival he had finally recived word from the Aurora Marines that they were inbound via-two hours local time. Sergeant Accirori had fought the Necrons more then once in space and knew a few tricks to assit them and began his most hectic two hour space battle with those same Cairn Tomb Ships. By the end of the two hour space battle two of those tomb ships had been destroyed another one floating and the other three hot on his tail. This allowed the AdMec ships in the system to charge up their Nova Cannons they had on their ships to finish off those three Cairn Tomb Ships before those same AdMec ships were destroyed by other Necron Vessels. The Gene-Seed of the Knights of the Lions Blood comes from the Dark Angels and the Primarch Johnson. While they are considered part of the Unforgiven their main task in the Fortieth Millennium is to rebuild and save their Chapter from destruction. A forth founding created by the High Lords to patrol the area between the Eye of Terror and Segmentum Obscurus. After the Necron Incident the Knights of the Lions Blood petitioned the Dark Angels and fellow successor chapters for aid in rebuilding while armors and ammunition were sent for replacements men and gene-seed were not sent to help. Luckily Commander Tellos had saved the entire supply of gene-seed. The only help they received for Neophytes inductees was from the parent Chapter the Dark Angels a percentage of their own tithe was supplied for two decades to help boaster the number of scouts that the Knights of the Lions Blood would induct. Out of all sent to them by the Dark Angels not a single one failed any test and all that survived as a scout became Battle-Brothers. The Ultra Templar have followed the started Codex Astartes almost to the letter up until the Incident. The First Company Veterans with Terminator Armour and Vanguard and Sternguard squads, followed by the 2nd thru 5th companies as Battle Companies, the 6 and 7th companies 10 full squads of Tactical Marines, the 8th full of Assault Squads with the 9th being Devastator squads and the 10th being the scout squads. Most Captains would prefer for the Devastator Squads to take out defensive emplacements and more aggressive targets from afar allowing the Tactical Squads to move in closer and pin down the infantry allowing the Assault Squads to move in for the kill and allow the Tactical Squads time to move in and finish what needed to be finished. Before the loss of their Home world and Chapter forces the Knights of the Lions Blood also was extremely proactive in training of the PDF forces of their own planet for the Home worlds garrison. Those inductees who failed the first genetics test instead of being turned into servitors were sent to the Home worlds PDF garrisons and soon commands of their own in the PDF forces. Highly trained in their own way they would become dominate members of the garrisons around the planet. There were many times when the Knights of the Lions Blood would take a Company of PDF forces with them to a War-zone. Not only as support with Tanks and Heavy Weapons but for front line training to better protect their Homeworld. But the Incident made the surviving members realize that would no longer work as they did not have the numbers for that. So for the first decade afterwards only small engagements were initiated. Hit and Run, tactics favored by other Chapters namely the Raven Guard were quickly learned and passed down the the up and coming scout squads. Soon two full companies were formed and other tactics came back to the for but the Infiltration and Hit and Run tactics have stuck with the Commanding officers of the Knights of the Lions Blood. It is not unknown for the Knights of the Lions Blood to still use human operatives for forward operations before scout squads are sent in. If the objective can be achieved thru the normal human operatives then the Knights of the Lions Blood move onto other theaters of war.Being that the chapter is still rebuilding they do not have a 1st Company at this time they do however have enough suits of Terminator Armour from the armor of their lost Home world as well as a few sets sent by the Dark Angels. The few sets they do have are set aside for the Commanders of the Company and their Command Squads and the other sets are set aside for Assault Squads and Tactical Squads going into extremely hostile situations. The Original Chapter Master was the 9th Company Master from the Dark Angels Chapter. Master Delmar of the 9th Company was chosen to being a new chapter. Delmar was already a member of the Inner Circle having already spent a good number of years in the 1st company as the heavy weapon specialist of his squad. Delmar was given command of two hundred marines along side a squad of Veteran Dark Angels. These would be the first Inner Circle Members who would induct the Chaplains and begin the start of a New Unforgiven chapter. Delmar haven already proven himself as a capable leader in the Dark Angels Chapter quickly proved it again with many actions against all many of foes he encountered. Delmar instead of following his original Chapters organization followed the Codex Astartes instead. And instead of promoting to the 1st company and letting them know the truth marines were chosen through out the chapter thus if the marines were a good few months travel away from the 1st company those marines in the company could take action and taken down and capture the Fallen in their area. Chapter Master Delmar also chose to explain a majority of the history to those of the Inner Circle upon their 4th Fallen personal Capture. Were upon they knew as much as many others. Only three Marines from the Inner Circle have ever fallen to Chaos the in the entire history of the Knights. Those three Marines were killed by the Chief Librarian in one quick battle. Chapter Master Delmar spent the next three hundred years leading his Chapter until he found their Homeworld. Upon the finding of their new Homeworld Delmar called for a meeting of the Chapter and stepped down as Chapter Master to allow a Knights of the Lions Blood to step up and take his stop. After the decision was made Delmar was the adviser of the next three Chapter Masters over the next two hundred years as a Marine and then the next 400 as a Mortis Dreadnought. 10th Company Commander Ticar: Commander Ticar was the 10th Company Commander during the Age of Apostasy. He was of course in charge of overall training of the Scout company. Something he took to heart. Any scout that did not score perfect on any field test was held back to the next group. After four times the scouts were sent to the Apothecary to have their Gene-Seed removed and then turned into Servitors. During his command only 15 scouts were sent to the Apothecary. Hundreds of Marines passed under the eye of Ticar to become highly trained shots and those who excel in close combat, above and beyond most marines. Commander Ticar also had close ties to the Deathwatch and many of his Marines were seconded to the Deathwatch soon after finishing their Scout training and receiving their Power Armor. Current Chapter Master: Chapter Master Tellos formally Captain of the Forth CompanyMaster of Sanctity: At this time there is no Master of Sanctity the former Master Faust had become unhinged over the decades after the loss of his chapter and so many of his battle brothers. The Chapter only has two Chaplains left and both are off with the 3rd Company.Master of the Forge: Techmarine Xarles has served with the Knights of the Lions as Master of the Forge ever since the Necron Incident. Xarles is one of ten Techmarines who are spread out among the remaining companies and forgesChief Apothecary: Killed by fallen scouts. None at this time. All but five Apothecaries were killed by the Fallen Marines three are with the 3rd Company at this time.Chief Librarian: Carius has been a member of the Knights of the Lions Blood for over 400 years.2nd Company Commander: Commander Tellos was given field command of the remnants of the 2nd company after the loss of the Captain3rd Company Commander/Master of the Fleet: Admiral Aurelio Acciori4th Company Commander/Master of Recruits: Commander Emilio Chapter Master Tellos: Tellos was the only surviving Captain of the Knights of the Lions Blood by the Necron hordes upon their home world which it seems was a dormant Tomb World that the Adeptus Mechanicus had known about and created a small forge planet on the Knights of the Lions Blood Homeworld. With the assistance of the Aurora Chapter Commander Tellos was able to recover a majority of the Chapters Relics and all of their Gene-seed depository. Captain of the Forth he refused the Title of Chapter Master for many months but finally relented from the request of the Chaplain Faust.Chief Librarian Carius: Librarian Carius was one of three Librarians who survived the Necron Incident. He is one of the longest living members of the chapter being outlived by only the Dreadnoughts who slumber in stasis and the former Master of Sanctity Faust. He was also the one who found out about the Chaplains falling from the Emperors Light and the one who fired the kill shot against Faust.Second Company Commander Tellos: Commander Tellos was given a field command by at the time Master of Sanctity Faust when the current Captain and a majority of the men under his command were killed with a sneak attack. Commander Tellos has proven on more then one occasion that he is worthy of his Command and if something were to happen to Chapter Master Tellos, Commander Tellos would be quickly installed as Chapter Master much to his dismay.Third Company Commander: Admiral Aurelio Acciori while has been given the command of Admiral when the space battle has finished he is usually the first one with boots on the ground and the last one to leave the field of battle, his fellow commanding officers jest that he would have made a great Imperial Fist with his stubborn attitude with ground battles. At the time of the Necron Incident a he was in command of the Strike Cruiser Belfast with the rank of Veteran Sergeant. It was his quick thinking and grasp of spacial battles that allowed him to play a deadly game of cat and mouse with the Necron Fleet and come in with the Aurora Chapters fleet and save Chapter Master Tellos and the Chapters Gene-Seed.Forth Company Commander: Commander Emilio was Chapter Master Tellos Veteran Sergeant when he was only a Captain of the 4th. When Chapter Master Tellos took over as Chapter Master from Captain, Emilio was given command of the 4th Company and turned into the man who would train the future of the Chapter. Commander Emilio was wounded by Veterans who sided with Faust over the future of the Chapter. Commander Emilio was then interred into a Dreadnought after the Chapter was reclaimed in the name of the Emperor. Where he is still in command of the 4th and trains his charges with an expert eye for fallen. Being from such a large and diverse planet the Knights of the Lions Blood believe that unaltered humans are to be the master of the galaxy, and the Astartes their guards from those who would take such a future away from them. Their Primarch Johnson is venerated as a great man who lead his Legion to unaccounted victories against the enemies of the Imperium. And the Emperor an even greater man but still just a man. Neither is a god in the eyes of the Knights of the Lions Blood.Their Gene-Seed makes them Unforgiven, and while the surviving Inner Circle members of the Chapter is always on the lookout their report their findings to Chaplain Faust up until recently. Now they must become even more insular as there is only five members of the Inner Circle left in the Chapter until such time as they can bring in their own Chapter Master. The Knights of the Lions Blood are somewhat different then other Unforgiven chapters as they do not promote to the First Company as Inner Circle members but from anywhere in the chapter so while you may be a 1st Company Veteran of 300+ years of battle you may not be an Inner Circle Member but the Veteran Sergeant in charge of the Scout Squad may be a member. Their own Captains while are sometimes members of the Inner Circle does not make them members by promotion. The three Veterans left with Chapter Master Tellos are awaiting the return of the last two Chaplains to see if they are still loyal to the Chapter or not before the proceed with induction of new members of the Inner Circle. "For those who have fallen we send you our fallen..." -This of course making reference for the Fallen Dark Angels from the Horus Heresy. Octavulg
Ultra TemplarsMany moons ago, some of the denizens of the Liber got together to intentionally write a cliche-ridden travesty of an IA, full of every possible mistake a new author could make. It's actually in the Librarium, though since the Librarium's currently turned off that isn't that helpful to you. I will give you three guesses what they chose as a chapter name, and the first two don't count. It's kind of a terrible name, honestly. It doesn't really mean anything and it sounds kind of childish (as anything with "Ultra" on the front usually does). Ultra Templar New Armour Scheme after the Necron IncidentNeither of these schemes is interesting enough to reproduce if it's not actually the chapter's scheme, frankly. Just pick whichever one you're painting them.Current Chapter Master: Chapter Master Tellos formally Captain of the Forth Company was the only surviving Captain of the Ultra Templar by the Necron hordes upon their home world which it seems was a dormant Tomb World that the Adeptus Mechanicus had known about and created a small forge planet on the Ultra Templars home world. With the assistance of the Aurora Chapter Commander Tellos was able to recover a majority of the Chapters Relics and all of their Gene-seed depository.1) That's the sort of information that goes in a history section, not in the organization section. 2) The organization section isn't meant to be a list of people in your chapter. No part of an IA is meant to be a list of people in your chapter (you can create such a list, but A ) not in an IA and B ) it's not exactly interesting without some context of what the chapter's like). Note that by IA I'm referring to the specific format of article you seem to be using. 3) Why would the Ad Mech set up shop on a chapter home world? The chapter would be watching? And chapters don't set up on Ad Mech worlds. You need to be more careful with your spelling and grammar. Read stuff out loud. If it sounds wrong, it probably is. There's not really much here right now, so I don't really have much to say. What do you want your chapter to be like? Chronotonic
Hey thanks for the feedback....someone else told me about the bolter old stuff from 08 read a bit of it haha... As for the color scheme that was the old paint job like they kept the legions colors but after the loss of so many marines they thought a new paint job would be nice...that and i am repainting tjem anyway... As for the listing i did not list everyone just the captains i have and the command staff...with a bit of back story to gk along and explain why i have a dreadnought hq... As for the feedback on spelljng and whatnot...this is a rough draft as you can see there is more info that needs to be put up... If anything else just hit me up i woild love to bounce ideas off each other Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271377-ia-knights-of-the-lions-blood/#findComment-3306771 Share on other sites
Chronotonic
Well I got a few new things up and I am all for hearing about ideas for the IA... If you have anything useful just hit me up and yes I am thinking about changing the Chapters Name...haha Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271377-ia-knights-of-the-lions-blood/#findComment-3308726 Share on other sites
Olis
Okay, let's start with the name. We gotta start somewhere, eh? I think once we sort out the name, I'll critique the article proper. So, Dark Angels lineage and from a forest world. Hmm. Well, what sort of theme are you interested in? Woodland warriors that hit and run? The mythic English knights of old such as King Arthur and his court? Perhaps a move in a weird tangent; what about a little Bigfoot influence and have your warriors wander the forests, looking for recruits but careful to remain out of direct sight of any other natives? Remember a good theme is can tie together an IA just as well as a good name can, indeed it could even influence the name. Chronotonic
I am trying to come up with something decent...as they will be painted green like the Dark Angels but I mean really what is in a color... I went with a 4th founding because I mean who really does those and I feel like the Dark Angels could have gotten away with a few foundings in the early years more so then present day...haha The name however... ehhh The Green Knights after the fabled Green Knight from Warhammer Fantasy...haha http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Gilles_le_Breton or :cuss the Grail Knights... Octavulg
Knights of the Lions Blood Original Armour Scheme Knights of the Lions Blood New Armour Scheme after the Necron Incident First, the pictures aren't showing up. Second, I really don't see why you need two color schemes. Even if you are repainting them, that doesn't mean you need two color schemes in the background. A Space Marine chapter's heraldry is a big deal - changing it is also a big deal. It's a break with their old identity. When the Knights of the Lions Blood were created by the High Lords the original black armor worn by the Dark Angels during the Heresy was adopted by the new Chapter. After the Necron Incident and then the Fallen Incident the Knights of the Lions Blood have followed suit of their parent chapter and repainted their armor green to show that they to have fallen from the eyes of the Emperor and their Primarch and must strive harder to reclaim their honor. As I understand it, the DA's green is to remember the forests of Caliban. Thus the Knights of the Lions Blood while being an Unforgiven Chapter when they arrive in a war-zone they are not shunned like other Unforgiven Chapters but are welcomed with open arms. Why? They've still got a secret to protect and they still presumably would have to drop things to go capture Fallen. Why would they be any more cooperative?A lush planet that was easily ten times the size of Terra with only the South Pole an arctic waste land.So the gravity was massive and squished people, then? This was to be a feast to celebrate the beginning of their Chapter so many millennium ago. Members of the Ordo Sicarius, Ordo Xenos, and Ordo Sepulturum as well as the ranking Generals of the PDF and AdMec Fabricator-General were all in attendance. Already the festivities were in full bloom, spirits were relaxed and high hopes were had by all for the future of the chapter and the sector which they patrolled.Seems very un-Dark Angely. Access to a fortress monastery seems quite uncommon, even for other Space Marine chapters.Current Chapter Master: Chapter Master Tellos formally Captain of the Forth CompanyAgain, a list of major figures in your chapter isn't that interesting, that important, or the sort of thing that's included in an IA. Stick it at the end if you must, but don't put it in the middle. * * * You're not presenting stuff in the order you talk about it. You start talking about the Necron Incident (which is a weak name) well before you explain what it is. Like it or not, spelling, grammar and writing are important components of an IA. If you're going to write stuff out at length, you need to write it out in a fashion that's easy to read. Right now, a lot of your writing's awkward. Read it aloud and I think you'll see a lot of the issues. The rougher it is, the tougher it is for people to read, and the less feedback you'll get. There doesn't seem to be much to their character - what makes them unique? The whole "anyone can be in the Inner Circle" thing could suggest all kinds of things about how they see themselves, the Fallen, the Imperium, the rest of the Unforgiven - why not expand on it a bit? What do you want out of these guys? What do you want them to be like?
