I cannot find out what the heck the SW ace pilot rule is in any form to even make me want to think about buying this book.  Any hints on what it is at all?

I don't have the book but given that no fliers were given to the Space Wolves and we don't have any, I don't think there would be any ace pilot rules...

The first two are like sagas, the third is a repair ability like the Iron Priest, only better and only the flyer hes in. They cost about 50pts, and you roll randomly to see wich ability you get.

To be fair, if one person has it in your club, they'll probably let you look at the rules for it if you want to use it for your Caestus or Storm Eagle. As for a wolf-specific flier... Hopefully they reprint the rules for Ace pilots when we get a GW flier of our own.

great, so we get rules but nothing official to use it on

GW at its best as always

Indeed, though hopefully it's evidence that we will be getting a flyer before long... though that might just be wishful thinking on my part.

Maybe we'll get a 75% points discount on the Thunderhawk? whistlingW.gif

This looks pretty solid...

yep, this is from the book. I got a look at it yesterday. I wasn't impressed either. But that does give me hope we'll be getting some form of flyer soon

I wouldn't get very excited about the rules being included in the book.  I did pick the book up and I can tell you, they just reprinted pages from another supplement and those pages happened to have the rules on them that included Space Wolves.  I don't think there was any real thought on GW's part to make sure they included those rules.  They were just there.

I guess I half way under stand you, however... most companies proof read before the final copy.. If Space Wolves were truly not going to be included in 'death from the skies' then it would have been all too easy to delete them and not have them mentioned at all.

"... most companies proof read..."

I think it's been well established that GW aren't "most companies" in this regard. Pretty much every single 6th edition book has required an errata within a couple of weeks of being released because they don't properly proof read them beforehand.

They also don't proof read their FAQ answers properly.

For GW to just "copy and paste" from 1 book to another isn't exactly unheard of either. Though to take a whole section from one book and reproducing it in another is a joke.

have faith! maybe there is a flier coming soon for us, use that thought to keep you warm on the long winter nights in the Aet teehee.gif

That and Mead... which as an aside, I have been able to get my hands on lately. Suddenly "honeywine" is becoming much, much more common... I can't imagine why...

i have always wanted to try mead actually hehe

of the 2 options though we have:

1) games workshop are really stupid and only care about getting products out there as quickly as possible without actually checking what it is they are producing purely to make as much money as they can as quickly as they can

2) games workshop have a long running plan and are trying to even the field in terms of areas of the game that are massively out of balance such as fliers so they have produced a book which is beneficial to many players immediately but also contains rules that will be of benefit to other players in the near future with planned upcoming releases

personally i much prefer option 2 and will keep thinking that is the correct one until it is proved otherwise

Yeah, I've got a drinking horn that me and my friends used to drink mead from, next to a fire while eating some roasted meat. It's a great atmosphere, and one time a guy brought a 1-litre horn that we filled up and then emptied properly. Good times!

Sorry for the high-jack.

Compared to some of the other Space Marine flyer ace rules, I feel like we really got shafted. Again.

I haven't even seen the other Chapter ace rules, what makes them better?

Well, for one thing, we don't actually have an official vehicle to fly.......msn-wink.gif
