Dksphinx
So I've been plaing 40k for about 13 years and Dark Angles for about 9 of those. I had a successor chapter I made called the Star Lions but just didn't like the paint scheme.....for quite some time. Recently I dunked everything I owned (DA wise) and started the long road of painting them up as proper Dark Angels. I've been on "B&C" for quite some time as a guest but thought that now was the time to actually post my stuff for feedback and to keep me motivated in painting my DA collection. I have a whole battle company, about 50 termies, a hand full of tanks (raiders, pred, WW, etc) and a scratch build Thunderhawk.....so I guess that means I'll be painting for a bit. Hope you all enjoy. Here is what I have done so far and thanks for looking. C&C is greatly appreciated. Thanks. What I have painted so far Green Wing Squad 1 (waiting for my FW DA transfers) Green Wing Squad 2 Company Master Command Squad with Standard of Devastation DW Knights DW Squad 1 DW Squad 2 DW Squad 3 Belial (cause I don't like the new model) Libby Chappie More Libbies and Chappie My Azzy statue (cause everyone needs one of these with the new terrain rules ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271526-dksphinx-da-paint-log/ Share on other sites
egon1six
Those all look amazing! Especially like the power sword effects! Your green is rich and perfect. You must share your secret of green. Dksphinx
Green on the PA 1 Caliban green base 2 Heavy wash of nuln oil (makes it real dark) 3 Edge highlight with Loren forest 4 Extreme highlight with goblin green (old paint I know, there is a equalivent but I can't remember what it is) 5 Wash with biel-tan green (blends highlights to base and gives rich color) Green on cloth 1 caliban green base 2 nuln oil wash 3 water down Loren forest to blend easier 4 water down goblin green 5 biel-tan green wash 6 goblin green again with lots of water 7 mix small amount of white in watered down goblin green * remember when watering down to add a good bit of water. You want it almost translucent with successive coats to work the colors out from the foundation Hope that helps. Thanks for looking :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271526-dksphinx-da-paint-log/#findComment-3309464 Share on other sites
