Chaplain, on a Hog :) - painted pics in last post.

Hi guys, well I've had this chap knocking around in my bits box for ages, and was in the mood for a simple conversion this morning (while retainig the chracter of the original model). So, as my mate plays Orks, I took inspiration (and the basic frame of a bike) from the Green Skins, and created my latest Chaplain for my growing blood angels force.

Any feed back appreciated! He'll be leading the new recruits (scout bikers) once I get through the last few things I've got to paint smile.png

Cheers, more pic's soon!!

Dramatic :)

Pet peeve- those seals on the front are blowing forward.  Try turning them to go with the momentum, or at least paint them with Chaos runes to explain their loathing for the laws of physics. :teehee:

Those wings on his shoulders, are they meant to be attached to his head, or more of a collar for the cloak?  I'd reposition them if the latter, and reconsider if the former.

Thanks smile.png yep the wings are mean't to be over dramatic cloak fixings smile.png

And the seals are ben backwards, but your right, not enough smile.png I'll see if I can get them back further.

Cheers!

It would be better just to rotate them 45 degrees rather than bend. Or just find a better spot to put them. Being juxtaposed to a properly angled purity seal on the other dashboad wing isn't doing it any favors either.

On the Wings- try switching sides and flipping them upside down. They kinda throw off the typical Astartes silhouette where they are (and look a bit goofy, really), but were they to be upside down they may look more clearly like they are part of the cloak. That may not work just because of the angle the cloak meets the body at.

If you want to keep them on the front, I would recommend just using one, on account of how big they are. Even then, try Greenstuffing to make the cloak extend down onto his chestplate a bit and move the wing accordingly.

If you like them there, it's your model. But what I see is a very big 'What the hell?' right smack in the middle of the model, where it can stand out the most.

Thanks for the advice :D I decided to keep him as he was, mainly because I rather liked the 'comic book' over the top style of the model. I finally got some time to finish him (bar basing) so will add pics below. Cheers!
