Giga
Greetings gentlemen, welcome to my fourth tournament battle-report. This time I bring you: - codex marines vs space wolves - codex marines vs orks - codex marines vs blood angels They were some rather nice, close-fought battles, if I do may say so myself. Enjoy: http://giga40k.blogspot.com/2013/02/mini-tournament-1622013-vulkan-ownage.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271677-triple-tournament-br-vulkan-ownage/ Share on other sites
Polythemus
Nice report. Lotsa pics and some good analysis. Playing defensive is a great strategy, its the rare list that can cope with a good defense eg demons. Personally id have to really think about how to counter a list like yours. It would have to involve some serious anti mech. Thanks for posting. Giga
Well, personally, I hate facing rhino walls or lots of fliers with this sort of list, although the twinlinked multimeltas do make busting through rhino walls a lot easier. Here's a evolution of this list that I hope I'll eventually be able to field in a tournament: Vulkan Tactical Squad - flamer, combiflamer, plasma cannon, Razorback - tl-plasmagun & lascannon Tactical Squad - flamer, combiflamer, plasma cannon, Razorback - tl-plasmagun & lascannon Tactical Squad - flamer, combiflamer, multimelta, Razorback - tl-plasmagun & lascannon 5x Hammernators 2x mm attack bikes Vindicator - siege shield Vindicator - siege shield Stormraven - hurricane bolter sponsons, extra armor Aegis Defense Line - quad-gun Five really killy tanks move 6" forward per turn and shoot everything, with attack bikes performing precision strikes. Combat squads may walk in front of them to give them cover saves. Depending on situation, the entire brigade can camp behind the aegis defense line until the stormraven arrives, and then push out. Against some armies (drop pod armies and such), Vulkan & the hammernators can even footslog around while a combat squad rides in the stormraven, allowing it to be dropped on an objective later on.
