Nemissary
I'm working on new Nurgle and WordBearer projects. It will be DeathGuard/ Nurgle Chaos Codex oriented. It may have some vehicles etc also and I hope that is OK here. Haven't been to B&C in a very long time unfortunately. Cancer gets in the way Some WIP ideas for Nurgle Marines. I'm not 100% convinced I like any of these schemes yet and I hope to get some advice , hints, critiques etc. http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/21/465909_sm-Chaos%2C%20Chaos.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/21/465910_sm-Chaos%2C%20Chaos.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/17/464459_sm-test3%20nurgle.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/4/460433_sm-pm1.JPG They are all variations of the old school camo greenish ideas, but I have also been toying with the idea of a greyish/German WW2 type or a red one http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/1/22/455453_sm-plaguemarine.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271709-general-nurgley-and-word-bearer-stuff-on-the-way-and-others/ Share on other sites
Nemissary
Hello again ! I have a little update on the plaguedrake and some buildings that I upgarded. They were Mordheim but I upgraded with plasticard, and woodglue mixed with sand to strengthen them. I also added Supports and crossbeams from old Sprue. They are two burned out buildings that are the remains of an uncovered Nurgle Cult. Still working on Deathguard color schemes. Have been trying out several, including a blue/green mix. http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/27/468305_sm-Plaguedrake%204.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/27/468306_sm-Plaguedrake%20detail.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/27/468308_sm-Plaguedrake%20back.JPG A Razorwire trap? I dunno, but my 3 year old did it with wire, hotglue gun and some bits. http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/27/468300_sm-Razorwire%20trap%3F.JPG My Mordheim/ Low Tech hab Burned out ruins: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/27/468301_sm-Mordheim%201.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/27/468302_sm-mordheim%202.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/27/468303_sm-mordheim%203.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/27/468304_sm-mordheim%204.JPG Here is a sample of my old TraitorGuard colors that I may try to duplicate for my scehem for the Deathguard. Its very "streaky" and not a top notch technique at all, but I may try to remember the recipes and do somthing similar if it won't make my painting look to crappy. I remember these were back in the day of "Min-Wax" dipping lol. There is also an old traitorguard with the same style: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2008/11/29/82_sm-Chaos%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Imperial%20Guard%2C%20Nurgle%2C%20Sentinel%2C%20Traitor%2C%20Warhammer%2040%2C000.jpg http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2010/3/30/94351_sm-Conversion%2C%20Swamp%20Base%2C%20Traitor%20Ogryns%2C%20Warhammer%2040%2C000%2C%20Wash.jpg http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2009/7/20/43554_sm-Chaos%2C%20Nurgle%2C%20Traitor%2C%20Traitor%20Guard.jpg My 3 year olds' version of a Daemon Engine: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/1/30/458733_sm-Deathguard.JPG The colors are very similar to this marine but more streaky and more highlights: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2013/2/17/464459_sm-test3%20nurgle.JPG Any comments or suggestions? Please help a nurgling out. I also recently went to the darkside and ordered an everblight starter crew........ Firepower
Me, as I scrolled down through this topic: "Uh huh, marine. Kinda gribbly marine with a tentacle. A red guy, for some reason. And OH DEAR GOD WHAT IS THAT THING!?" You can sculpt tentacles and piping quite well, and you have a knack for painting streaky stuff (even if you are apparently out of practice). That's pretty much a guaranteed top notch Nurgle army from the start. When it comes to choosing a scheme, the guy behind the tentacle is classic cool. Ch@oZ
The plaguedrake is hard to look at with all the clashing colours at the moment, but i can't wait to see it done and painted, cause it shows great promise. Lachdannan
Plaguedrake looks awesome. As for scheme I'll pipe up and say that the marine with the plasma gun is awesome. Those traitor guard are also really imperssive, and I quite like the streaky scheme they have. Either way your onto a winner I think. Nemissary
Thanks guys. I think the tentacle marine with some streakies in the paint will be the basic color scheme. Kinda an old school scheme mixed with my streakyness traitorguard scheme (5 years ago, I made the streaky traitors.... man time flies) mixed together. Think that the way to go. Maybe some of the streakyness will be a tan/sepia color at the tops of the highlights and then the greeny streaks in the lower/darker areas. This way I'm not in the heresy scheme. The heresy sheme is nice enough and very popular at the moment, but I'm avoiding it like the plague (heh no pun there). Nemissary
No pics atm. I'm bogged down in a huge scenery project for my local store. Dozens of Mordheim buildings. I am also going to try one more time with the red plaguemarine.... I think I gave up too early. I may be able to pull it off and make them fit with my Word Bearers if I stick with it a little more. Wish me luck and if anyone has a good, gritty red color scheme to share, please let me know.
