Dark_Master
The truth about the fallen came out? I know in the original fluff, the shame was massive. However nowadays every chapter has some renegades that turn chaos, even the smurfs. So would it be so bad? The fact we have been hunting them down with such zeal would surely count for something? The legion within chapters thing, however. That would be bad. DM Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271806-would-it-be-so-bad-if/ Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
I think at this point in the 40K story, everything that has happened and the Unforgiven have chosen to do because of the Fallen would make it pretty bad to let it come out. Finn
There has already been a discussion regarding this topic. After HH, the events on Caliban surely were a HUGE deal. Now, it maybe wouldn't. However, 10000 years of lies is not something that would be easily forgiven :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271806-would-it-be-so-bad-if/#findComment-3313159 Share on other sites
Cactus
Yes, the original sin would not be so badly recieved now but the countless acts the Dark Angels have taken over 10,000 years to hide it are something else. Also, for those who have read Angels of Darkness and Ravenwing: This is something Boreas realised, that the Hunt and the means used to that end had gone too far and become a greater stain on their honour. Millicant
*whispers the name "Dark_Master" to nearby interrogator-chaplain* Now that's taken care of.... First, Finn is correct please seek out said discussions. Secondly here is my unsolicited view on it: Yes it would be awful. The fact that a large portion of the Legion turned to chaos is a huge blow, especially at the time of the Horus Heresy! Even now it would be enough to cast the entire 1st Legion into excommunicate traitoris. As others have stated, what's worse is the 10 century coverup that is the hidden crusade of the Dark Angels. The turn to traitor of half a legion is despicable. To keep it from the entire Imperium, essentially undermining the high lords of terra and possibly the emperor himself, is unforgivable. Citing that other chapters have had a few renegades or traitors is a long way from half a legion. Those few in other chapters that turn are exposed and burned, thereby preserving the honor of their original chapter. The dark angels had no such opportunity and must continue to track the fallen down. Even once they are all found their existence may never be revealed.
