As I feared then; I'll have to try not to lose it every time it comes apart :/

I'll let the seller know anyway, maybe they'll wrap them better in the future! Counting myself lucky that the maul-sister survived intact.

If it is the model I am thinking about I have done weapon swaps on her before.  File both sides of the break to get a nice flat surface to work with.  Use an awl, ice pick or if all else fails, the point of a fresh exacto blade to mark the center where you need to drill.  Drill slowly with light pressure, especially at the start.  You might consider giving her a plastic chainsword if you have one in your bits box. That will give you a thicker weapon that is also much easier to drill into.  If you really want to go nuts, extend the pommel a few mm and turn it into an eviscerator.

A Paperclip pin will work fine, I have a few models like that, honestly the paperclip makes them stronger, the old metal our sisters are made of bends and snaps easily so yoou may as well get used to pinning now.

Inquisitor hand I got with Stern, his sword is snapped right off in a right mess and to top is slightlly mangled, Needs a goot bit repair work but still easily enough done.

Great tips, thanks. Turns out, the seller immediately sent a better-packed replacement! So now I have both a Maul and Sword wielder, 2 flamers and a spare (but no backpack) who can perhaps be converted to wield something completely different. Not sure what to go for really. What would you convert her to carry in her sword hand?

Simulacrum? Combi-melta?

That model is one of the easy ones to make a combi-melta with. You need an Infernus Pistol from a Blood Angle player, tho. See how she holds the bolter down and away? Clip and file the forward grip away; all that in fron of the magazine and under the reciever. Then slice the pistol away even with the top of the marines hand all the way to the melta barrel. Clip off the forward sight too. The flip it over and glue it to the bolter where you flatened it out.

It would take a little work, but what I see her holding in place of the sword is Abaddon's head :smile.:

Alternativly look up some fantasy players and see if they have some spare plastic hands. If iam not mistaken there are several pointing hands in the high-elves ranges that dont look that much different from those battle sister hands.

Ooh, a combi-Melta would be a good idea. I intend to add a couple of meltaguns and a smattering of Bolters, hopefully enough to run two squads but at least enough to run 1 small one with the option of swapping specials. They will initially act as allies and either hop out of a Stormraven to purge enemies from an objective, or roll up alongside a landraider in a transport with a bunch of melta guns. The combi-Melta is a good idea, and I could turn the sword hand either into a relic, as suggested, or even just give her a chainsword for the look.

Ooh! Maybe I can find a flaming torch somewhere? BURN!

Flowers? Girls love flowers!

Besides, being beat to death by a girl with flowers in her hand would be really embarrassing for a Chaos Lord!

So, aren't all sobs supposed to be redheads? I mean I've been out of the loop for 11 years and they still don't come in plastics so... Red headed step children of the emperor?

All joking aside This thread is awesome

Seriously considering sob allied detachment for my black templars and our imperial guard, y'all have given me allot of ideas!

Pretty easy. Get a power axe from somewhere. If you're using the official Canoness model, take one of the weapon hands from it, snip the weapon off where it meets the fist, drill a hole into the hand in line with the haft of the weapon and drill into the haft of the weapon so the holes line up, then use a bit of paperclip to reinforce the join while super-gluing the axe to the hand. Then attach it to the Canoness - it may be easier to attach the hand to the Canoness first though.

I am building my first SOB army.  I was wondering if anyone has converted a canoness to hold a power axe.  If so, how did you go about doing it?

I am/have done this for this year's ETL.

I have a base canoness with the sword, which the blade has been snipped off.  On top of that I have glued a Warhammer Fantasy Dwarf battleaxe, though afterwards it needed a little rim of greenstuff to keep it in place and secure.

Thanks guys.  I was thinking of either doing that or casting my own.  I think that I will try pinning one on like this.  BlackTalos.  I had actually found similar axes on ebay last night with the Imperium wings on them.  It might be worth looking into.

The website I linked has an ebay trading account. You are probably referring to the same parts (I linked the Imperial Axes, they also do "Space Marine Axes")

Did the ebay ones look like this?

Trading with them directly can save you a few £ / $ on shipment and exchange rates, though very minimal...

Here's another little something I've been working on for a store campaign with special campaign characters. She's been a lot of fun so far.

Ok, my next project has been selected.

That is one awesome-looking model. I don't care what we get in the next codex ! :laugh.:

Ps: Eviscerator source?

Thanks! She was a ton of work but a good learning experience with sculpting. I probably went a little overboard compared to a lot of the other participants, but it got me a prize in the best model competition.

Eviscerator is from Kromlech, there was an even bigger one included too...
