Hey fellas, it's been a while since I last posted on here. I think the forums have been redesigned, good job on that! smile.png

Here are some pictures of a few commission pieces I painted recently:

I don't know what you're talking about. whistlingW.gif

:D Yeah, the customer prefers to do the bases himself so they match the table he plays on. Some people like to do that which I can fully understand. Of course it leaves me with slightly less pretty pictures but oh well. Thanks for the comment by the way!

@reckoning 34: Thank you for the comment. Yeah, that claw. It looks worse in that picture from that angle than it looks in real life but I did bend it to be a bit more straight. Thanks for reminding me.

@Firepower: Thanks muchly. smile.png

@Brother Tyrax: I enjoyed painting those marines a lot. I'm not one to boast but I'm really happy with how these BAs turned out. I took some chances with the colour scheme in that I used quite a few stark colours and a much brighter red than usual but I think that it worked out really well, especially on the Dreadnought. With the Assault Marines, it was pretty much a given. It's just astounding how well the old BA scheme works. Bright red armour (I'm a 2nd edition guy, dark red BA never really worked for me), yellow helmets, beautiful. They're all third company so the sompany sign is that white drop (not really helping if you want to get vibrant, colourful BA). Making those big drop-shaped things in the front of the Rhino and the Dreadnought white gemstones to fit the company colours was something I Never did before (IIRC) but even with that I'm fairly happy with the results.

@DeathKnight2000: Thanks! smile.png

They look fantastic mate. I cannot stand the revamp (hurhur) for the Blood Angels. SImply because, with the way I've seen the army played since 5th, a solid red unit looks totally out of place in the army. Every BA army I've seen on the board so far (which is four unrelated armies) have been compromised of Gold, Black and Blue.

It's very refreshing to see the Chapter I started with done right.

Cheers. I think it helped a lot that the models the customer wanted painted aren't overloaded on wings and whatnot. BA were my first army back when I started 40k and I think that then, BA have been the most balanced when it comes to them just being red Marines versus being their own chapter. They were essentially red marines but with a bunch of special characters of course, death company and one special rule or something. Not that goddamn thing about them being "the close combat chapter". tongue.png Really not a fan of boiling SM chapters down to "those guys like close combat", "those guys like plasma guns", "those guys like flamers" and so on. It's simply a thing that screams "easy to sell" and especially BA got more to them than that. DA too for that matter.

But then, it's up to every single person to have his Space Marines done the way he or she likes. Paintingwise, I don't have much against the icon-overloaded marines either. They're fun to paint as well and also look great. It's just a matter of differing tastes I guess.
