Nehekhare
Has anything been heard about Skulltaker, The Masque and The Blue Scribes? all but scribes in here: http://natfka.blogspot.de/2013/02/tearing-through-veil-lots-of-daemon.html Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271979-epidemius/page/2/#findComment-3317872 Share on other sites
Blood Shadow
Ah thanks, The Masque looks like the best one with her powers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271979-epidemius/page/2/#findComment-3317916 Share on other sites
Black_Crusader
Skulltaker is the codex eternal warrior but his AP3 weapon kind of sucks... as expected, his insta death is also uber nerfed (only on 6) Blue scribes make random psykic powers As for the Masque i don't know what to make of her powers good or bad I liked the changelling though, it is a herald that has the ability to copy the stats of an enemy like in fantasy (if i remember correctly) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271979-epidemius/page/2/#findComment-3317940 Share on other sites
Seahawk
I like how the Keeper of Secrets went from I10 to I1. Wait, not. What a freaking stupid change that makes no sense. That's right up there with the daemons gaining the Grey Knight item (Grimoire). Da heck? Â All I can hope is for some typos and bad translations at this point, because the CD book got hammered HARD. I like the sound of the Masque mainly because of her dance (if correct) that reduces a units BS by 5 to a minimum of 1 and the unit cant overwatch, one of my main opponents plays a shooty Eldar list from the sounds of it the Changeling only swaps one of his stats rather than the whole set like fantasy daemons could (if i remember correctly) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271979-epidemius/page/2/#findComment-3317976 Share on other sites
Brother Ambroz
Skulltaker still have rending? The KOS is I1??? That's gotta be a typo or some special rule missing.....right? the jeske
The fastest way to check how "good" the dex is to take a GK basic dude ap3 2 str 4 shots +3 armor and a blood letter same number of A , same 1 A ,no shoting ,+5 inv. I guess the only way to play demons would be taking the stormlord and going nightfight as long as possible . now if only demons could have necron as ally. Nehekhare
skulltaker has ID on 6 to wound, AP3, no rending. KoS is I10. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271979-epidemius/page/2/#findComment-3318119 Share on other sites

Brother Dakath
I saw a Daemon Codex while I stopped by the LGS (after midnight) and Heralds are odd in that they are multiple per HQ slot, but only if you run Daemons as the primary detachment. Nehekhare
you may have up to 4 heralds per detatchment, all of which together take up 1 HQ slot. blue scribes and masque are NOT heralds, karanak and changeling are. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271979-epidemius/page/2/#findComment-3318390 Share on other sites
EricBasser
Back on Epidemius. While his Tally isn't board covering, it does work on Daemons of Nurgle. A 6" bubble of Feel No Pain (4+) is good late game, especially after the +1 Toughness bonus. And the Daemons don't need Feel No Pain to begin with. While not the Tally of old, still seems useful. I agree. I am surprised so many dismiss him out of hand stating he is :cuss just because he is ultra nerfed. What many, I think, dont notice is that he is quite cheap and only counts as 1 of 4 Heralds per Primary, and IMO the latter is quite, quite important Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271979-epidemius/page/2/#findComment-3320240 Share on other sites
Black_Crusader
the problem with epidemius is that he brings nothing before you increase the tally. No psyker, no rewards and not very good locus. He is meant to be in the front lines killing but plaguebearers aren't the best options for that. A common nurgle herald can give you 2 biomancy powers plus feel no pain for 5 more points. You have very good chances of having buffs (and debuffs for the enemy) as good as Epidemius from turn 1. Excessus
He doesn't have to actually be on the table for the tally to start counting though. Keep him in reserves and drop him where the line needs a boost, since between nurgle grinders and flies and princes you'll have plenty of ways to make 7+ wounds the first and second round... Black_Crusader
Then maybe dropping him with 20 plaguebearers later on next to a Great unclean one and a drone unit using an icon may be a good move. Still needs a lot of focus on a Nurgle list. In a Nurgle only army he is probably auto include.
