Iron Sage
As of current, unless I am missing something vital, then a minimum squad of bloodletters +Fortress of redemption or Aegis line will be = Cheese!!! Thinking about who to man the Quad gun will now be a no-brainer indeed, given that the new and nerfed (which equals cheap!) letters have Ws AND BS 5 (note the BS)...:D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/272164-possible-cheese-detected/ Share on other sites
Squark
BS 5 isn't really all that impressive on twin-linked stuff- It's only an 8% increase in accuracy, and Twin-linked BS 4 is already hitting 88% of the time. Now if you're using an Icarus Lascannon, that's another story. Now if you're using an Icarus Lascannon, that's another story. Sure your correct, but my point is that those letters are 10 points each. Thats not too bad a cost for models that are de facto fearless against rangefire with Bs 5. You would rather have a cheap unit man guns suchs as these compared to an expensive one, so I figure Bloodletters would do nicely here. But yeah, your right. The word "cheese" was exaggerated perhaps:) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/272164-possible-cheese-detected/#findComment-3318676 Share on other sites
Squark
Bloodletters manning a gun aren't doing anything else, though. I'm not convinced you're not better off going with a more typical objective sitting unit. EricBasser
I think Plague Bearers with a Herald would be better. Shrouded + FnP + Defense Line = immovable object. Lol. I am confused about Khorne having a better BS thank Tzeentch. Just seems like they used a D&D dice system to come up with stats. You are probably right :) I was just thinking Minimum squad letters + aegis gun = cheap gunners:) As for Khorne, he has obviously been re-designed as well, a martial deity that can throw a spear as good as he swings an axe (though in the fluff, Khorne was honestly always like this, so I dont really mind it) :P However, as most of you will know. There is not that much use for the Khornate ultra high BS outside the Bloodthirster (when you take one you should always take 2 greater gifts and then you might roll up the quite decent ranged weapons if you are unlucky (unlucky because you would probably want +1 T It will not Die even more :D), other than random gift rolls that you may or may not roll for your letter champs and heralds. *Furyou Miko
It seems to be GW tradition to make units with no ranged weapon the same BS as their WS now. Iron Sage
It seems to be GW tradition to make units with no ranged weapon the same BS as their WS now. Lol. Correct I guess. But there actually are a few ways for them to use it (ranged gifts, bloodthirsters whip, cannon emplacements etc.) But yeah, I know what you mean. IMO Khorne having high BS is alright fluff-wise though ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/272164-possible-cheese-detected/#findComment-3319051 Share on other sites
