Max Power
Hello Brothers! After a bit of a hiatus from wargaming, I finally have the time to work on my pre-heresy project. While reading both Betrayal and A Thousand Sons, a question formed: Were there any non-psychic battle brothers in the XV legion? I like the idea of non-psychic battle brothers being formed into destroyer squads, or something to that effect. Does anyone have any insight? My own research turned up very little, or is an unreliable source. Thanks! Grimdarkness
As far as I know there where some marines with small amounts of ability. That's how you end up with rubric marines. Kol Saresk
The answer is yes. We can see one of those Marines in A Thousand Sons. The other clue is in the description of the Rubric Marines themselves: "Little or no psychic powers." Compared to other Legions, full non-psykers would be the rarity. However, the number of psykers who were strong enough to survive the Rubric is a rather small percentage in its own right, hence why it is so many Rubrics to one sorcerer and not the other way around. After the Rubric, it would be possible. The Thousand Sons gene-seed lived on through the sorcerers and that is how they continue to recruit. But it is very plausible that they only recruit "replacement" sorcerers rather than non-psykers as the Rubric Marines are essentially immortal and very rarely need replacing.
