I created Durfast Spiritwolf and his GC back under 2nd Edition when very few WLs were named.

The powder blue GC hasn't been out much since I formed a HH-era version several years ago and they picked up the number Elva after Prospero Burns was released. I'm really looking forward to the release of the VI Legion HH lists whenever they eventually turn-up (probably in a couple of years). The big difference between the two is that HH version don't get any TWC (as they aren't in any HH-era fluff so far), but they do get access to a few different packs based on Visions of Heresy.

In the meantime a pack of LF are on the production line with some Fenris Bloods expected to turn-up anytime soon whistling.gif

Three Wolf Lords have led my GC:

Eroch Whitefang (End of 1st. and 2nd. Ed)

Arkul the Red (3rd. to 5th Ed)

Haegar "Ironside" Ranulfsson (6th Ed.)

Proud of all 3.    Mostly of Arkul the Red, although "Ironside" and his beloved weapon Gramrhånd ("fierce hand")  promises lots of fun....

Ragnar Blackmane's Company.

I enjoyed reading his book series which is actually what convinced me to pick Space Wolves in the first place (That and Battle of the Fang). I also love his character as that of young upstart who's got some anger issues at times.

I also just prefer the shoulder design for his company. On top of this I'm one of those people prefer's having a named character that can be played in the book as I feel it makes it feel that much more authentic and enjoyable.

I'm surprised no one does Kjarl Grimblood great company.

Probably because his original rules were rather ho-hum (or meh, for you young'uns). All he got was an additional point in Strategy Rating over a stock Wolf Lord. He wasn't nearly as cool as Ragnar or Logan, so never achieved much popularity. Now, he has long since been forgotten, so I'm not too surprised that nobody bothers to play him.

Well that would make me a young'un of 22 then as I didn't even know there used to be rules for him :P but I've just bought a redeemer off eBay so have pledged myself to the pyrotechnics of Grimblood. Just posted a list in the army list section so would be great to get some feedback for young'uns and oldy alike.

Cheers,

That counts, marking you up for Grimblood, now we've got representations of every Great Company. Keep em coming guys, represent your company and tell us about why you chose it.

Oops, I'm showing my age again. You posted Kjarl Grimblood, and I was thinking of Kyrl Grimblood. Kjarl is one of the current Wolf Lords (as you know from the 5e Codex, wheras Kyrl was a Wolf Lord during the Age of Apostasy who eventually broke the siege of Cardinal Bucharis and saved the Fang. This Grimblood saved Fenris, and possibly Terra herself.

Hey Guys!

First Post!

My Lost Company is led by Leidolfr Wildclaw. I've got the majority of sorted, being old metal space wolves from 2E, with a few new things included. I'm just finishing off 2 ork armies before I get back to my wolves. I've yet to get my Jarl built due to this.

He will be modelled using a converted Forge World Skin Wolf model, with broken bits of armour and equipment built around him. Rules wise, he'll be your every day thunderwolf lord with Saga of the Bear, etc. He turns under times of great stress to him or when he has a battle rage. His company will have many models with mark of the wulfen as well.

Rough fluff will involve the Jarl leaving in search of Russ, smashing some faces, drinking ale and generally being badass good guys.

My Wolf Lord is named Alekr Skywolf, as he is famed for Drop Pod assaults  and his company is dated as being destroyed towards the end of the Horus Heresy; he was present as the Traitors fled from Terra, and it rumoured his entire company gave their lives defending a hive world from a frenzied World Eater warband in their retreat to the Eye.

So, HH/Post-Heresy Great Company.

Wolf Lord: Hfran Morkai "The Wolf-King's Raven"

Company Number: Seven (Unless this has canonically been taken, I don't think it has, though ADB has it featured in his fluff. It was just my lucky number :( )

Era: Late Great Crusade/Horus Heresy

Specialisations: Recon, Infiltration, Pathfinding, Sowing Terror and Confusion

I actually started off as an Erki Morkai man due to my love of Wolf Scouts, especially when they could assault after entering the board edge lol. But then I started reading the Heresy books, and thought to myself I'd love a Heresy era army, then FW decided to release kits, then books. Each time my collection has been reset, hence why I have no completed miniatures at the moment. I need to get back into modelling and stuff, but I'm cautious of buying a load of stuff before our Legion gets its time in the limelight with FW.

Hfran means Raven in Norse, and scientists have observed ravens appearing to lead Wolves to prey, this combined with ravens being mysterious made it a suitable name for my Lord given the specialties I wanted to emphasise.

Hfran's company was tasked with extensive scouting missions, drawing the rest of the Legion in if needed. I even penned a piece about the infiltration of Prospero before the actual sacking (Morkai's ships were blessed with skilled navigators and good engines) but I dunno, fluffwise it seems a little too much, especially as I imagine FW will go into some detail on the sacking.

Redmaw since the latest codex's launch (using the badass Valten on foot model for the Wolf Lord himself).  Footsloggers with outflanking Grey Hunters and scouts, plus a drop pod Grey Hunter pack and a drop podding dreadnaught.  Whoever I'm fighting never knows what hit 'em!
