"Space Wolf" was the book that first introduced me to the WH40k universe, back in late 2002. While i first started a Dark Angel army, i eventually shouldered that aside and disassembled most of the models to use as a foundation for my Wolves, which eventually became my rendition of Lord Blackmane's Great Company.

I like to think of it as things coming full circle. :P

My Space Wolves is a mix.

Around 75% of it is based on Logan Grimnars Great Company, a mix of 2nd edition Wolves and the latest incarnation.

The rest is based on the Legion, with Mk II, Mk V and Mk VI armors led by the original Leman Russ model with Freki and Geri

I still need to make the legion version of Bjorn.

I started making my own under Wolf Lord Kadmus Irrewolf. I supposed I over looked Krom Dragongaze while reading about the current Great Companies. I've decided to go with Krom after coming across him looking for other information and liking what little fluff I saw. As Kadmus means dragons tooth/fang I'm turning him into the companies champion

My GC is a own, lead by Leif Thunderstand. Leif choses the sign of the blackmane, where the yelow backgroudcollor is a bit darker then Ragnars.

I chose this way cause i like the look of the blackmane on yelow ground, but i dont like using special characters (only housemade, that gives the army a more personal note in my oppinon)

Technically, Orphus' Great Company is a splinter of Harald Deathwolf's Great Company because that was the one he was inducted into. The Company's resident Wolf Priest, Ulfgar, and many of the Marines come from Erik Morkai's Great Company after they were forced into remissive duties that eventually made them come into contact with Orphus.
