Warsmith Aznable
The head's not the issue, Max. I actually have a Canoness model to carve the sconce off of her backpack. The issue is the body, which just looks silly with anything other than a weirdly wide gene-mod freak like a Space Marine inside it. I need some beefy armored woman...one that's not scantily clad (which is super hard to find). That's just the age of the model. When we get our new plastic sculpts everything will be smooth sailing! I still believe... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/272188-sisters-of-battle-in-tda/page/2/#findComment-3321751 Share on other sites

thade
I did briefly look over the Privateer Press line for conversion options; those models you mention there (and most of the ones on PP's site) appear very male in stature, unless I missed something. :\ Thanks for the thought though. *Furyou Miko
I think my brother has a few female precursors, but yeah, I can't remember 100% off the top of my head and it'll be weeks before I see him. W0lfie
Rules wise, I would go with GK. Not because sisters are psykers (call it divine intervention, or something) but because they are especially good at killing psykers and daemons, and because they get troops terminators without any special characters. The only problem you'll run into here is that anti-psyker weaponry and powers will affect these "not psychic Sisters" precisely the way that they affect psykers. Also, other than the slightly higher Deny the Witch roll, GK terminators don't get anything especially useful against psykers. The codex offers other anti-psyker stuff (Inquisitor with null rod, Culexus assassin, grenades and missiles) but it's not for their general Termies. What I meant was the codex offers those options; you can take the terminators, and then grab some psyker-killing weapons. Bjorn Firewalker
Someone without the Black Carapace, i.e., EVERYONE WHO'S NOT A SPACE MARINE, is unable to fully utilize Terminator armor. I say kitbash some IG Sentinels with the Penitent Engine's arms, or kitbash a Nemesis Dreadknight with a sister in place of the Grey Knight. *Furyou Miko
Terminator armour, unlike power armour, was designed for ordinary humans to wear then later adapted for Astartes use. It's not even clear whether it even interfaces with the black carapace. Spacefrisian
thade, thinking about it, have you looked at Protectorate of Menoth precursor knights? MadDoc
Terminator armour, unlike power armour, was designed for ordinary humans to wear then later adapted for Astartes use. It's not even clear whether it even interfaces with the black carapace. No. Seems you need to buff up on your background regarding Tactical Dreadnought armour there. Terminator armour was developed from protective reactor suits that could be used by "ordinary" humans, suits which weren't suited to combat and didn't include the advance support systems that Tactical Dreadnought armour does (many of which utilise the Black Carapace to directly interface with a Marine's own enhanced biological systems). Terminator armour was not developed for ordinary humans, it was developed for Astartes, making vast improvements to (and weaponising) the non-military/non-combat-ready reactor suits that were wearable by "ordinary" humans. Eddie Orlock
Terminator suits have been adapted for non-astartes before. I evidence my current Terminator Inquisitor Avatar. Shiney. It's just more difficult, and a less standardised process requiring greater technical expertise and probably significant ties to the mechanicus. Usually a one-off deal to demonstrate superior understanding or as a supreme favour or reward. Not that that's an issue with most Sue sisters backgrounds. Given how massively thick TDA suits are supposed to be, how should an external observer tell if the helmets on? It's just a matter of appropriate iconography and colour schemes. Maybe the answer is to reproportion it by rebuilding the thighs and hips a little wider?
