My Deathwing detachment

Hi All,

Just thought I'd let you know what I've been up to this weekend and before you look below - sorry about the poor phone pics!

I've in the process of building the Dark Angels 3rd Company with a sizeable Deathwing and Ravenwing detachment and an allied Grey Knight force.

This weekend has seen me do more work on my version of Belial, build up most of my Deathwing command squad and undercoating my Land Raider and 3 terminator squads.

My Deathwing standard bearer. I hate the way GW don't make enough of the standards. The fluff says they are really awe-inspiring things, but they never seem to be that prominent....so this is how I wanted mine to look..."STOP! In the name of the Standard!

Here's my AOBR Dread-to-Mortis-with-the-Aegis-Autocannons. I thought it'd looked a little 'front-heavy', so I cut the barrels on a few of them down so they looked like they were mid firing...like the old 2WW 'pom-pom AA guns'

So, finally, here's my Deathwing detachment so far (not including my LR, Librarian or Chaplain). I'm going to add in a couple of FW dreadnoughts and another Raider along with a squad of Deathwing Knights which should take me to about 3000 points

Nice models, I like the subtle swaps.

 

The terminator standard bearer is a nice pose, and is how many of us did him prior to the DW box (holding the pole rather than having it mounted on top). That said, he is actually modeled illegally - there is no option to place a Power sword on him. He looks awesome that way though, so if you don't mind it, so be it.

 

As for the regular standard bearer, do you plan on extending the pole? It looks odd the way it is, like he's going to swing the whole thing like a baseball bat.

I'll be honest, I didn't look into the options before I modelled him - I'll refer back to the Codex and see what I can do with him!

 

As for the regular guy, do you mean extend the pole downwards?  If so, yeah, I was thinking that.  the way the drill went in (my first ever bit of drilling) was a bit wonky so the hilt doesn't line up properly.  I'll have to take a look at him!
