My semi-Nurgle army: The Warband of Lord Pestus [pic heavy]

I've worked on this army for around 2 years now, and recently I decided I hate the GW stock Plague Marines and wanted to make my own. Here are the results. Hopefully showing the models to you people will finally motivate me to paint them.

 

First off, I've never gotten into the whole over-the-top tumor-y, cyst-y and tentacle-y thing for Nurgle armies, so I decided to tone that aspect down for the new models. My thought was that the Warband is a splinter of the retreating Death Guard Legion shortly after the defeat of Horus. They'd sport some battle-damage and weathering, but they wouldn't have had time to develop into monsters yet. I therefore kitted most of them out with respirators, the thought being that the Marines who wore respirators wouldn't have suffered as many mutations as the ones who didn't. That quickly went out the window after I dicovered a few heads I really liked, so in the end I just went with cool factor.

I'm working on a paint scheme now, at the moment it's a sort of white on off-white on beige. Updates will be coming sporadicly, but hopefully I'll have some of them painted before too long. I'm waiting for some Autocannons to finish up a Havoc squad though, so I might get distracted.

Sounds interesting. I like the conversions so far, my favorite is the first one (the guy without helmet).

Speaking of paint-scheme - isn't white a bit too 'clean' for plague marines, even if they're not so rusted? Beige to bone, maybe - but that's just my opinion.

Very nice conversion. That guy wielding the "Double Chainsword Staff-Axe" is intimidating as hell.
