Brothers, Not sure how to use spoiler tags and not sure if this has already discussed so bare with me

I havent finished reading Betrayer yet but came across an interesting paragraph (around page 165 IIRC) in relation to the World Eaters pit fighting. As already stated in Butchers Nails, Amit captain of the Blood Angels 5th Company earned the epithet The Flesh Tearer for his brutally savage nature in combat and in Betrayer its revealed that Amit was frequently paired with Kargos the Bloodspitter and that the 2 usually dueled to beyond 3rd blood and even to the point of death, something that even Khârn would never agree to. This would mean that Amit and Kargos had experience in killing other astartes years before the Heresy.

My question is this, how is Amit able to accept the death of these astartes in the pits when in Fear To Tread hes ashamed of his actions on Signus Prime (dont know how to use spoiler tags - but most of us know what happened). Is this just due to the fact that the fight wasnt agreed to or that he had lost himself to his nature and realised that he was on a dangerous path? This was hinted at by one of the Word Bearers in Fear To Tread (Erebus IIRC) that Amit was the furthest along the 8th fold path in the Blood Angels Legion.

How to use spoilers: You'll find the relevant button in the top left of the reply box (the white box thingy with blue and green in it that's third from the left). First highlight the text you want to spoiler, then click that button and run down the given menu to find the spoilers option. Select that and you're good to go. Hope that helps.
