EricBasser
I just wanted to start a thread and see how people are running their Daemon Prince/s. Are you taking a Greater Daemon to make them heavy support? What about builds? Here's one I plan on trying. Expensive, but looks fun. Wings, Armor, Exalted Reward swapped with Eternal Blade, Greater Reward, Mastery Level 3, Daemon of Tzeentch. With Biomancy, all my powers, and Eternal Blade, it's possible to get +2D3 Int and Attacks. Also possible to get Eternal Warrior or Life Leech. With Flying, Armor, and Daemon of Tzeentch, failing small arm fire only on rolls of 2, or a re-roll of 1. Not sure if I want to make him a HQ or spend the tax and make him heavy support. What builds is everyone else running? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/272318-6th-edition-daemon-prince/ Share on other sites

What builds is everyone else running? But if you dont use him as HS, what makes him better than a LOC? The cost difference is not (codex not available right now) very large as far as I remember. You can do the same with a LOC, only better for slightly more points surely? I might be mistaken in which case my apologies. As for my build, I haven`t tried the daemon dex in action yet, so my build is DP+tzeentch+black mace, or the exceptionally expensive and outrageous one: Dp+tzeentch+mace+spell familliar+ 3 lvs (tried that once, the expensive one that is and had massive success, but for sure, it will probably in reality seldom be worth it since I happened to roll Iron Arm and endurance both which is surely obscenly rare). Eh, forgot to mention that I obviously buy wings and armour... EricBasser
I need to double check, but I think LoC can only take Change and Divination powers. Daemon Prince has more power pools to pick from. The thousand son
I like the flying prince of slaanesh wielding a whip! (Greater power, swap for weapon). 2d6 shots at 12" (S6) flying around slapping flyers and transports alike. Black_Crusader
A daemon price of nurgle with the insta death sword flying with 3+ cover save looks prety good to me. If you can spare the points you can add some biomancy powers as well. I AM THE AWESOME
Daemon Prince of Tzeentch, 2 Greater Gifts, Lesser Gift exchanged for Staff of Change, Wings, Armor, Mastery Level 2 or 3 With the Greater Gifts you're ideally gaming for the defensive bonuses 1-3, though 4-5 also add worthwhile offensive punch (and trying as hard as possible to avoid a 6). The Lesser Gift will almost always be exchanged for the Staff, as that adds +2S, Concussive, and an explosive special rule for a measly 10 points. Take a Change power and then Biomancy and you've got yourself a winning balance of speed, punch, and survivability. EDIT: The reason why you don't want the Eternal Blade on a Daemon Prince is that a Daemon Prince is already a basic WS9 I8, so can't get that much benefit out of the sword. The best platform for The Eternal Blade is a Great Unclean One, who theoretically with a maxed out Warp Speed, Iron Arm, and Eternal Blade could get on the charge 12 WS9 I10 S10 poisoned attacks with a T10 to back him up. Granted, that's preeeetty much never going to happen but the GUO still has the most room for juicing up. *Furyou Miko
Wait, eternal blade? lol, someone so needs to do an Eternal Champion model only to discover he never rolls that gift... Iron Sage
Wait, eternal blade? lol, someone so needs to do an Eternal Champion model only to discover he never rolls that gift... It is the primaris of that section and as such you can always get that gift. Nehekhare
aside from being able to spam up to 4 of them (which I wouldn't recommend due to FMCs being generally overpriced), you may get better bang for your buck by allying in a DP from C:CSM: no instability (but fearless) for the same price, DoT is 10pts cheaper and he may take the black mace which trumps anything daemons get by +10. add a heldrake for further profit!
