mustardParty Posted March 6, 2013 Share Posted March 6, 2013 Hey all, I've been trying to figure out what to use for my 'relic' marker in games that call for a relic. Since I play BA primarily I thought of something like a chapter relic, like a chapter banner or a grail or something. But why does my opponent care about my banner (or my IG allies). Maybe for some personal grudge or something, but... What is something EVERYONE in the GALAXY would care about? What is something that would prompt a desperate recovery mission the moment a hint of it was discovered? Everyone LOVES them some STC's. So I'm making an ancient STC System terminal/cogitator interface. Who knows if it's still working, probably not, but even the faintest chance that something might be recoverable in the innards merits great sacrifice. I'm planning on having them cracked, but with terminal prompts on them still, or maybe static, or corrupted feeds. That's pretty much how I started this - what can I smash together that would end up mattering in a narrative? I still need to go and hit the areas with some dull coating to bring it all back down, then weather the decals a little bit so they don't look so perfect on the busted up old unit. I think they came out pretty good. Starting on some of the other details now like the terminal screens and printouts. The big screen needs work, not happy with how the cracks in the screen came out. Any suggestions guys? This is pretty much my first project that's focusing on distressing. The blue on the secondary power unit didn't really come out like I'd hoped either. I'm still not happy with the main screen! Maybe I'll green stuff it back to normal and just put a command prompt on there like Res Ipsa suggests! Though it'd probably be a "~$ " command prompt I still have a few little things to take care of, like that mould line on the blue power unit, I can't believe I missed that one that entire way through!
