But to me Black looks unfinished now and Red says the blood of the Emperor's enemies will be spilled. Silver is not a bad idea, we had it I believe on our first solo codex cover. 3rd edition? I used black back in the day with that codex, then moved to other things for 5 or 6 years and got back into them. I tried the vraks scheme but I ended up going red because the black is just to dark next to the green. Bother Cypher Posted March 11, 2013 Share Posted March 11, 2013 Well after some more tinkering (painting and adding bases) I have come to the conclusion that I like the red bolter casings. It also matches the boltercasing from previously painted Deathwing and Ravenwing. For me the Black casing was blending in to much. Hope this helps the OP with the their decision. The color scheme also works well together overall... Red (Bolter casing), Green (Armor), Bluish grey(Cobble stone).
