Land Raider Achilles for the Wolves of Fenris

Hello, warriors of the Aett.
I've been thinking about getting a Land Raider for my Wolves and in my research I have come across the Land Raider Achilles from IAA Second Edition. For anyone that doesn´t know it, the LR Achilles can hold 6 passengers, has extra armour, POTMS, Ferromantic Invulnerability (denies Melta or Lance effects and reduces in 1 the result on the damage chart, except for Destroyed weapon results), two sponson-mounted TL-MM and a hull-mounted Thunderfire Cannon.
I just loved the tank, specially the Ferromantic Invulnerability special rule, effectively eliminating one of the most common threats for a Land Raider . Although it is really expensive, at a 325 points tag, I would really like to deploy it in a 1500 points list (I'm running a Rune priest, 2 GH packs with TDAWG, 1 LF pack, and 2 Dreads [one Rifleman, one with PC and DCCW] at 1000 points) maybe with a Iron Priest and Servitors for insane repairs.
I know that maybe it isn't the most competitive or optimized choice, but in my mind it looks awesome.

Has anyone used this LR variant succesfully? What would you put inside the tank, besides some barrels of ale?

Thanks in advance for any comments, brothers and sisters.

1 of my regular SW opponents during 5th edition always ran his Achilles, with good results. They are generally difficult to kill, however against necrons or anything with armourbane they are vulnerable to "death by lost hull points"

The downsides are the cost and the transport capacity. In 5th ed the capacity didn't matter, as 5 troops and an iron priest to repair it made it an unkillable objective holder. That tactic is virtually gone in 6th however.

I'd say go for it - one of my regular opponents oft. uses his (even with the onset of 6th and 2 Necron players at the club) to great effect, it's done best when there are some units to protect it nearby - otherwise your opp. can ignore shooting at it and just use a chainfist, it'll be as dead as anything else...

Thanks for the input. The idea will be to move the LR into the mid-field to camp an objective, (shooting the Thunderfire cannon and if in range use POTMS to fire a TL-MM) along with the GH and the PC/DCCW Dread, while the RP, LF and Rifleman Dread give long-range fire support.
I would have to drop a Dread in order to get an Iron Priest, so I will use a small GH pack to embark the LR.
I love the LR Crusader as well, but I can't see it reaching the middle of the table with Dark Lances and deep-striking CSM Terminators with combi-meltas shooting at it.

Yes it is, and I use him also. Not often, but last month I got a list with 2x 5 wolfguard terminatord, Logan Grimnar, 2 Landraiders Crusaders, a landraider godhammer and a landraider Achilles.

The achilles in the read of my deplyoment zone, and firing with his thunderfire cannon. Was really great, lost one game against deamons, won a game againts Imperial guard and had a draw againts grey knights.

I'll definitely go for it. In the next couple of months I will get a LR Redeemer/Crusader box and with some greenstuff and bits I will make the conversion and post some pictures. The MM sponsons seem easy to convert, but the TFC probably will be somewhat difficult.  Thanks everyone.
