Ok so after the final vote on thursday the Ultramarines project is underway and on theat same day my Cataphractii came in so it must be a sign of the Emperor! So fluff and such will be made over time but here are the Consuls of Calth, 51st Company.

Just let me know what you think guys, does the squad look decent to be Ultramarines or not? Besides that I could use help on the basing should it be snow oriented or more like ashes and rubble?

The models look great. I love the basing details that you've added as well.

 

But the one thing that kinda stands out is the Aquila that you have on the shoulders of some of the models (Mason and Zarus). It is my understanding, but I could be wrong, but Pre-Heresy only legion authorized to wear the Aquila was the Emperors Children. 

 

But overall, I like the unique look that you've brought to each model.

Well to answer the question about the aquilla is it is true the Palatine Aquila was only aloud to the EC I wanted to make it so that the Ultramarines started adopting the Aquila or at least 51st Company took it as a symbol of loyalty to the Imperium of Man, now it is not written is if the loyalists actually adopted it during the Heresy but Great Crusade era only EC were aloud to have it

Ok so after hard labour in my personal forge room, I have achieved I would believe a decent colour scheme for my Ultramarines! What do you guys think?

@Vazzy Thanks man I loved your Ultramarines and were just also a great inspiration, my Marines I wanted also out of Tallassar but now I'm not so sure sweat.gif .

@Gawain Veteris good to see that I am not the only Ultramarines lover in here, there will be definitly more Ultramarines in the coming

@Rider-75 Yes I'm a big fan of the darker blue color scheme then the baby blue that most people like. The Darker and grittier scheme just gives more....dark times feeling to it.

I'm going to continue painting the sergeant but he won't be done until hopefully tomorrow, my next order will be in place so it should be another week or so or more even until it comes in, cheers!

Ok so now after about an hour of painting I finished the sergeant for the squad hope everyone enjoys him! (and in my opinion he kinda looks like Hershel from the Walking Dead O.o ))

Thank you everyone for your nice comments it really makes me happy to see some people take interest in my models! This is after all my first time painting Ultramarines so Nemiel was a test model sweat.gif . But I hope to make at least a company worth of marines (which is close to 1000 models since it is pre heresy), and I'll try to make regular weekly or every other day updates on my marines! Cheers! It's ok Vazzy my marines are mostly Terran now teehee.gif , but back to buisness; It seems I caught a cold from Papa Nurgle (damn you!) and that has kept me all day at home (which I studied and painted the entire day long). Now I only was able to finish painting one model which was Melkior and to my great grief he lost the spikes on his shoulder guard so instead I tried some free-hand and it was at last result covered in battle damage (which looks pretty coll imo). So the marine is covered in mostly battle damage and such since he is a heavy flamer and needs to get close to the enemy, hope you enjoy!
