Blood Angels : The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.

Recommended Posts

Of course, unless you're talking about allies, Death Company don't have any of these cheaper bodies that might help them get into combat...Also, of course, Berzerkers will often be scoring units.

The trade off for blood angels is the delivery system. Chaos cannot have transport for units of more than 10 models. Death company can make use of jump packs, drop pods and crusader/redeemer landraiders. Berzerkers do not have these options.

Death Company are meant to get shot up. Its their job. You run the cheap enough to not be a loss if they get wiped in the turn they come down... but enough of them to actually cause a legit threat.

Or if you really care about them surviving, fling in Corbulo in the unit and laugh off shots with his 3+/2+ FnP

I have to disagree with those that say Death Co. with jump packs are no good. Expensive? Absolutely. But they're tougher than Sanguinary Guard and more mobile than Terminators. If you want a fast themed army, they can be the heavy hitting hammer you need. Spread your forces out and they're easy to pick off. But if you keep everything close and in sync, they are NASTY. Nearly unstoppable on the charge with a chaplain/reclusiarch.

I completely agree with previous comments. BA are finesse, so use jump pack/fast attack finesse. With jump packs you can dictate when/who assaults who.

And on a side note, I really enjoy BA in 6th edition. They require much more strategy and finesse than they did in 5th.

Definetly Captain Death Crunch!

Blood Angels have always been a finess army, we don't get super hard hitting units like some of the other armies, but JP DC supported properly will ensure that every weapon in the game focuses on them first.  That's the nice thing about 3 Baal preds flanking to put your foe in a pincer attack, the DC supported by Storm Ravens and Blood talon dreads will screw up your opponent as they will have too many fast units surrounding them, and not giving them good target priority.  >:)
