I agree that this is an excellent idea...I was off in Japan, and only rarely on B&C, when Tyler attempted to launch this, but I'd be willing to submit the Numerican 475th...

Planet: Numerica Prime

Regiment: 475th Combined Arms Regiment

Numerica Prime was once an agricultural world in the Segmentum Obscurus. Due to a clerical error, it was overlooked that its annual harvest ceased to be shipped to 37 other worlds in the segmentum due to an ork infestation. Segmentum bureaucrats dismissed the resulting complaints and reports of malnutrition and starvation as the disloyal whining of backwater ingrates. When a roving inquisitor discovered the truth, giving his life to ensure that a trusted lieutenant escaped to raise the alarm, seven Cadian regiments, two each mechanized infantry, light infantry, and armored, as well as one regiment of artillery, were dispatched to deal with the menace, Cadia being the nearest planet capable of providing sufficient forces to retake a planet that had been under orkish control for thirteen years. Even so, the entire 5th company of the Dark Angels was diverted from another warzone to assist. In the aftermath, surviving officers of the Cadian regiments were installed as the system's new nobility, and several regiments of planetary defense forces were raised and trained after the Cadian model. The planet's economy was diversified, still focusing on agriculture, but now including some light industry, notably the production of lasgun power cells. Additionally, the planet was enrolled as a Dark Angels recruiting world. Two generations have passed, and Segmentum Command has decided that the planet has recovered sufficiently to provide a blood tithe. The best trained and equipped of the PDF regiments, the 475th, has been elevated to the status of an imperial guard regiment and now forms part of the Segmentum Reserve. Auguries indicate that the eye will reopen within the next thirteen years, spewing forth a renewed Black Crusade. How fitting would it be for those whose grandfathers were liberated from an orkish menace by Cadia's finest to now stand shoulder to shoulder with Cadia in defiance of the best efforts of the malefic powers?
