KJB
It looks that way, maybe a limited edition novella? Hmm, I'm intrigued.. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/272733-new-raven-guard-horus-heresy-novel/#findComment-3327097 Share on other sites
amaze07
I hope it is the XIX are now one of my favourite legions in the series!& I pray it's better laid out then Deliverance lost if it is! [TA]Typher
It doesn't say if it is a HH novel of just a Space Marine one. I kind of hope/Dread that it is a HH. Deliverance Lost make Corax look like Dustin Hoffman in RainMan. One minute he is doing complex math to figure out a death maze and the next moment he is getting fooled by a spy impersonating a Astartes that he should know well enough NOT to be tricked, and then his planet rebels against him without him having any clue. He goes from Brilliant to licking windows in the coarse of 20 pages. Ugh... It's not as bad as the hatchet job they did to Ferris in the book Fulgrim (He's basically retarded in it and all of his Captains fight with nerf sticks), but it's far from flattering or even believable. I haven't read Betrayer yet. I hear Corax comes off better in it? With the exception of him running from Curze. They're the worst part of the new-era Horus Heresy fluff, lol. Conn Eremon
Every Legion is supposed to be super-awesome at what it does best. The Alpha Legion is best at infiltration and espionage. Since this is a civil war primarily between the Legions, it's against the Legions that the Alpha Legion do what their best at towards. Sadly, it's kind of made it comical. But given what we already knew of the Alpha Legion, we should be expecting them to pull this kind of stuff. That being said, the Alpha Legion in Deliverance Lost came off as "lolwut? I'm not even trying." while the Raven Guard were dumbed down enough so that the AL could still pull their shenanigans in spite of their own inadequacies. Yeah but they could have made it good for everyone involved. If Corax left the rebuilding to one of his Captains while he left to strike at the "Perfect Fortress", then they could have shown Corax being a badass, at the same time Omegon doing his thing on Deliverance. Then BOTH Primarch would have looked good, instead of Corax devolving into patrick star once he returned to his home planet. Conn Eremon
I agree that it wasn't done well. There are many ways the Deliverance Lost plot could have been delivered in a better way.
