tournament list changeup

[Grand Master Caloth]

So changing up my list for a tournament coming up, tell me what you think...

Grand Master, MC Hammer, psybolt ammo
Librarian with divination
Grey knight strike squad, 10 men, 2 psycannons and psybolt ammo [X2]
Paladins, 10 men, Apoth, 4 psycannons, all with hammers, psybolt ammo
Sormraven [stock]

33 bodies and a flyer. Main idea of the pallies is the Libby takes the apothecary and psycannons and forms a mean f-ing dev squad while the other 5 roll with the GM, while the raven harrasses enemy flyers/armor and potentially carries a PA squad, or else both the PAs are my base holders. i posted this on the army list and got no help, so... ideas? comments?

I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't comment on it because I have a deep dislike for pallystars, and have no advice on how to run them. That being said, you should switch the HB to a MM on the stormraven. It's fantastic at taking out just about any flyer.

You are right, thats my mistake. the SR isnt stock, just stock to how i run it. TLAC and TLMM. Sorry for that bit of confusion

Your list is insanely low on bodycount, and you have a lot of points tied up in two expensive HQ's and a Flyer. Not to mention you can't take a Paladinstar as a Troops choice without Kaldor Draigo. 

 

If you are that keen on Terminators, I'd run a Knightwing list. 

 

HQ:

 

(2) Terminator Inquisitor w/hammer+psycannon, 'Prescience'

(110 points each)

 

Troops:

 

(2) Justicar w/halberd, Terminators w/hammer+psycannon, 3 x Terminators w/hammers, 5 x Terminators w/halberds

(425 points each)

 

Heavy Support:

 

(3) Dreadnought w/2 x twin-autocannons, psybolts

(135 points each)

 

Total: 1,500 on the dot

 

That's a pretty annoying list to deal with. The PsyDreads shut down enemy transports, Flyers and other medium armour. Meanwhile, you move in with the Terminators and threaten their mid-field with your firepower and melee threat range. Most lists at 1.5k simply don't bring enough AP2 to kill 20 Terminators.

its 1750, and its an idea to get away from vehicles and whatnot. I know that the Paladins are not scoring, and im ok with that. Trust me, i have been playing this army for a long while, i understand the ins and outs. I dont play inquisitors. I prefer pure GKs. and yes, i know the Palis are EXPENSIVE, but i want to try running the 4 psycannon palis with the apothecary and libby, esp if the libby gets Precognition

I assume he didn't see that you were taking two 10man strikes, hence his comment.

 

My problem is if you're going to play pure GK and want a pallystar there's not room for much else and is therefore hard to give C&C on something you don't really want to change.

So why submit this for C&C? Not to be rude, but as IndigoJack pointed out, if you already are confident you know what you want, why ask for changes? PallyStar lists are all pretty much the same, and seeing as you don't want PsyDreads there isn't much else we can really recommend to change the list. 

 

Perhaps the thread would be more constructive if we switched the focus to how you went with it. As I kinda imitated before, I'm moving away from Paladins in general, so let us know how you got on with your build.
