Trevak Dal
Like, marking warp talons with a Mark of Slaanesh just increases their initiatitve, it doesn't not change their statline and make them "daemons of Slaanesh". A guy tonight was trying to say that his Warp Talons (and Mutilators) were "Daemons of *insert god*" and got the 'buffs' that Daemon princes get for being "daemons of *insert god*". I said that was wrong-he got kind pissy and then wouldn't play. totgeboren
You are correct. They are Chaos Marines with the Mark of X who are also Daemons. The only way to get Daemon of X is if you have it either in your description, or you have it available as an upgrade. The only CSM Daemon that has it the Daemon Prince. But it would be cool to have a Herald of Slaanesh leading a squad of Slaanesh Possessed with icons of excess. The killyness would be severe, especially if the Possessed got rending and all that jazz. You could ask him if he really thinks it makes sense that cheapest mark to buy should also be the best? (Not to mention it also says right there in the name "Mark of...", not "Daemon of...", which is a hint, especially as the Daemon Prince cannot buy a "Mark of..." Shuggnuggath
That would make possessed worth considering for the first time in their existence.
