So after seeing the Helbrecht pattern land raider at a GW in the USA (I was there on holiday and still went to find plastic crack) I wanted to make my own. that and I need something ridiculous to go with my other land raiders... they need a big bruvah.

Need to figure out how to widen the sponson and how to shove 2 autocannons on it.

Sweet. Loving that idea, Though personally, I'd just make a super-Crusader, with 4 Hurricane Bolter sponsons, 2 pointing forward, 2 pointing at the back. Nothing says: "Come at me, bro!" Like 24 Bolters strapped together, and then strapped to a Land Raider.

Not my idea originally, it's been tossed around the B&C before based on a 3D model.

Not finished thou, still needs some fine tuning, maybe a few autocannons.... that and paint.

Pity I missed the ETL due to my vacation, I made this guy earlier today and have an entire backlog I'm now biting into.

And then there's at least 6 dreads on the bench now base coated, 2 contemptors on their way, another LRC on my desk, entering highlights now. Enough vangaurd vets to kill a man with more terminators (PoLC anyone?) 4 Devestator squads (plascan, lascan, missile, plascan) Another 15 man CC crusader squad, a Drop pod and then there's my IF and CF armies sitting on the edge of the cabinet waiting for base paints.

Oh brother, I haven't been more excited to see a land raider project before in my life.  I cannot fathom the amount of work that you'll need to put into such a project- but emperor bless you if you pull it off and thoroughly document the process with pictures and mini tutorials for your brethren!

I use model snow (generally used for trains etc.) it's a bit thicker and can be agitated to be more stiff (by stirring the throne out of it and adding less water).

Then I layered it bit by bit from top ledge to lowest ledge using light/common sense on how snow would actually fall/stick using a small flat ended knife as a spatula.

So I figured out what this Valejo air stuff is, made a contemptor and a sterngaurd, now if I could make my brain work I could take pictures of the sternguard... but~ have a contemptor for now.

Yup, base coated black, then silver, bronze, wash of dark grey, drybrush gold with the light reflection.

Thats for the base body, pad is black, brown trim/cloth, red trim, GW badab black wash on cloth, highlight with buff.

Loincloth, flat earth, buff, sepia shade, buff highlight

Ropes were done by, mephiston red (realllllllly thin), flat earth,  dark grey wash, highlight with flat earth.

power weapons were done mephiston for handle (later gw badab black wash) with silver,bronze for the handle, power weapon segment was done with violet as a base color, then yellow green and white as a progressingly whiter drybrush over it.

Yeah they do it for each titan, not sure if they keep counting up with all types or separate per type, but it is snazzy.

I am geek, I has gundooms. that and other large quantities of assorted mecha.

Partly, these are made from Sanguinian gaurd, grey knights purifiers, the new sterngaurd and our old faithful upgrade sprue.

Also how I have I missed this thread til now? Wow brother, your crusader has a bit of everything, doesn't it? What's the actual head count at?

 

I quite like the bronze/gold Honour Guard. Fits very well with Helbrecht (who I see you helmeted, good call), and also suggest the IF ancestry quite well.

It's been a while since I've done a full head count but I have roughly 16 full crusader squads (half archer half knight) 20 odd dreads of diffent variants 12 chaplains the big bad HQs from our chapter 7 land raiders of multiple patterns (4 LRCs) and 40 odd terminators

 

Next to this I have at least one of each unit in the codex in each slot. My painting table is currently home to 40 jump packs 4 contemptors and a spartan assault tank. The work bench has a war hound and a sicarian battle tank sitting ready for cleaning. Then there's my IF and CF and my small small (2000) GK army.

 

As for the war hound not sure yet, give me a good suggestion and I might just do it ;)

Sadly, I must admit I am sadly quite low on experience when it comes to painting Titans.

 

I would urge you to resist the urge to painting it entirely in our colors, since this would Imply that our chapter takes into possession resources of war to which we are not privy, and that wouldn't do.

 

Instead, try to come up with Titan legion theme that will fit thematicly with your legion crusade and blend in nicely.

 

Perhaps a knightly theme that isn't black white and red, or a black white and red theme that features non templar icongraphy?

We must paint it black! failing that red! or purple!! (I honestly have no idea what I'm going to color it, but cleaning/building comes first anyways).
