Using my current space marine army as Legion list stand ins?

Hi. I have a conundrum for you all. Can I use my current marine army (astral claws) using the legion list in betrayal? I know the answer is of course I can but I'm a fluff/fun player who cares mainly how things look than how they perform on the table.

 

Over 90% of my army is forge world models and I really can't see the point in buying the same stuff all over again and just painting it a different colour.

 

I know this may seem silly but it's really bugging me. My brain just needs a little convincing.

 

Is it ok to use stand ins if you are a fluff player?

You want to have a fluffy looking army and yet not want to re-buy same old stuff or re-paint right? If so, i suggest more economic choice.

I'm a fluffy player and I'm using stand ins while I await FW releases for new stuff and while I assemble things.

Knowing that the VI Legion lists are years away and despite having a pile of FW stuff painted up as Space Wolves, I'm close to finishing my first twenty Death Guard. Come one, you know you want to.

Of course it's acceptable! Especially given how the Tyrant's Legion operates (I.e. they also have 20-strong marine blobs), I can't see it being a problem, even fluff wise.  The Astral claws use huge numbers of marines and non-codex equipment, they also have heavy artillery, too!  Astral claws are probably the fluffiest non-legion legion you could use, alongside the black templars I suppose.
