Terminator Chaplain with Mace of Redemption and friends

Hello Brothers!

I've put this guy together today. He's supposed to be armed with the Mace of Redemtion instead of your usual Crozius Arcanum. I'm pretty pleased with how he turned out. IMO he looks suitably menacing smile.png What do you think?

Sorry for bad photography.

For his right shoulderpad, I've used this bit from WFB Chaos Knights box:

Thank you! It's a shame, but the head comes from the Traitors, from Khorne Berzerkers set. I've just trimmed the bunny ears and the arrow on the forehead.

I really like the conversion overall but the more I look at the head the more I dislike it. Other than that I really do like it. I guess its the teeth that are bothering me the most. But since I don't have any good replacements to offer I can't really say anything else tongue.png

But it is a really awesome conversion nonetheless biggrin.png

I agree about the teeth...know what would be awesome?  No mouth of any kind...just a blank space....or 3-4 really long vertical openings where the mouth would be...in any case, greenstuff is called for!

Thank you all for kind words. I'm happy that you like it, especially taking into account how simple it was to put this fella together. I don't even consider him a conversion, it's a mere kitbash with some extra bits. The only thing that required a little more effort were the candles - they were made with a little green stuff, plastic rods, thread hardened with some superglue and watered down PVA to simulate molten wax.

As for the head, I've used it before on my previous chaplain you can see in my avatar. Back then, I was concerned that it looked too savage for a loyalist. But I got used to it and now I love it. Apart from the fact that there is no better helmet available in plastic, I feel that the savage look suits a Dark Angels Interrogator Chaplain. These guys are supposed to look mean, brutal and intimidating. After all, they are psychos obsessed with vengeance and dealing punishment to enemies of The Emperor and traitors. It also suits my own take on the Dark Angels being even more Fallen than The Fallen. Many on the latter were simply mislead. The former betray the foundations of Imperium consciously.

I'm very eager to begin the paintjob and I hope to have him finished by the end of next week.

Tiger9gamer, you brought to my attention, that the model lacks a crozius to be fully WYSIWYG. The Mace does not replace the sign of office, it's bought as an additional piece of wargear.

March10k, thank you for the suggestion about the head! That's brilliant! You can be sure I'll consider this.

Well, if he is gonna hit you in the head WITH THAT THING, he is savage. Savage enough to guarentee menacing teeth msn-wink.gif

I am sure that once he is painted he wont look a million times better.

I have a number of shoulderpads of khorne bezerkers that in ordered to use them like that. Then Seraphicus came out, and filled those needs XD.

Cant wait to see him painted.

Greetings, Brothers! Today, I've had some time to work on my chappy. Unfortunately, he's still not done and as such, these are WIP photos:

I hope to have him finished by the end of this week.

I am very impressed with how that head has been modified actually, I never liked the idea of using it for Chaplains before but you have converted me!  Though personally I might have tried to mod the eyes to have obvious lenses.  Also nice to see how well the Chaos Knight shoulders fit on Terminators, I have been hoarding them for this purpose but not used any myself yet!

I've used this head before and therefore I knew it's not bad at all smile.png As for the shoulder pad, unfortunately it does not fit all that well - some cutting and trimming is required to make it fit. Good news is it does not require that much effort.

And a quick update after today's painting session:

I must say that so far this fella is the opus magnum of my painting :)

As the chaplain is nearly finished, I've started working on some of his bone coloured friends. This is the direction I'm heading with them, apart from the fact he's not yet finished:
