Imperial Fists History -Pre Heresy

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm wanting to find out as much about the Imperial Fists before the Horus Heresy, and if possible, before or right at the early stages of the Great Crusade.

I'm wanting to try and do a fluff piece of the Imperial Fists, possibly centred around their first Battle Honour titled Roma.

Currently I can't find out any information of that period so help would be welcome!!

^Heresy.  I'd consult Lexicanum instead, as it's standard of quality is considerably better.

Major points before the heresy however:

-They served as the Emperor's personal praetorians, i.e. they were working alongside him more, acting on his direct orders more etc.

-They were an inflexible formation specialized in siegecraft

-They were extremely, extremely loyal.  More so than just about any other legion.

-They were very much focused on the actual crusading, rather than rebuilding.

-They had more battle honour than any legion except the Luna Wolves.

-They tended to follow the letter of orders, rather than reading between the lines.

-They were a mid-sized legion

-They were formed on Terra based (their Fortress monastery was actually destroy by the IW during the siege of Terra)

-They focused on the sword, more than any other weapon.

-Still Yellow.

-Still hate the IW.

Other than that, you can infer quite a bit from specific engagements of theirs.
