John_f
I have yet to see the codex Deamon but would very much like for my havocs to be able to get access to divination. What are my options? Can I take two heralds of Tzeench in one HQ slot and give them divination? Are demons and csm bbf? How much would that cost? If this is impossible, are there any other options? Iron Sage
A herald will only be bought 4 for 1 if Daemons is your Primary detachment, otherwise, a herald would be a normal HQ choice. Thus your options are the following: tzeentch herald in horror unit or Tzeentch herald on disc alongside Screamers. Second option is to run a Lord of Change. All of the above options are quite decent. But it all depends on the rest of your list of course ;) Note: heralds can not join a CSM unit and vice versa depite being Battle brothers due to the daemonic instabillity rule. As for cost, Loc with 2 greater gifts, lv 3 psy and one lesser gift is 305 points I think. herald is obviously much, much cheaper. Sception
Lord of Change is probably a better choice than herald & horrors, provided you have the points, but also will want to be winging it forward, so probably won't be using divination to buff backfield havocs, at least not after the first turn. minigun762
Plaguebearers are a smart choice to replace small cultist squads. Being tougher with a better save and in essence fearless is worth the point hike. Sception
bearers make good campers, daemonettes decent melee support. fiends can be useful, especially if you're trying to force some of our grenade-less assualt units to work. Seekers are criminally underpointed for their speed and number of rending attacks. Soulgrinders are decent for the points cost, and the FMCs are pretty good. minigun762
I'm already making room in my CSM list for a 'thirster and a squad of 16-20 'letters. 'thirster is a monster and 'letters are great way to add some assault punch to CSMs because they're effectively Fearless and bring enough MEQ attacks that you can kill off most anything as long as it isn't a terminator. Nusquam
Hadesfiends being buffed by Prescience is huge, especially if you activate Daemonforge. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273118-demons-as-allies-to-csm/#findComment-3365149 Share on other sites
hornywingythingy
I'm having a lot of success running a lord of change, ten horrors, 15 flesh hounds alongside my spawnrush army, I was taking two greater rewards on the loc, but last time I took the grimoire and a greater reward, worked very nicely, also, had the mission required more troops I could have taken the portalglyph instead.... Honestly, demons complement csm very well, though, just like csm there are a lot of duff units in there. Wolf Guard Dan
I don't consider spending the points worth it for Divination. To have access to divination you are almost spending as much as another unit of havocs cost (herald +1 obligatory troop). And you havocs are already hitting 66% of the time. But that just be how I build lists. I try to be as points efficient as possible. Nusquam
You wouldn't want to buff the Havocs. You buff BS3 Daemon engines and dish out 4++ to your front lines and so on. I have always had a use for divination with my CSM/DAE army.
