legionator: i wasnt i think that in TS index astartes say a line that is not luck that magnus landed of prospero....

WLK:is the primarch are general then maybe, just maybe need to TRUST ON THEN A LITTLE MORE, except them to just follow your order just like that is something that you except from a guardsman but not but the people more close to you,

in that way lion is looks like his father, expecting loyalty to him in every oportunity

is just me or the more flaws the primarch have, they really look more like the emperor?

I think in the end the primarchs and astrates were means to an end. To be used just like the thunder warriors. I don't believe the emperor holds any love in his heart for anything bar his own ambition.

He was a tyrant and dictator that punished anyone and anything that didn't believe as he did.

I also believe the emperor wanted magnus brought back to terra alive to further his plans with the golden throne.

In that case, the Emperor should have designed all of the primarchs as merely generals. But there were architects, scholars, artists, politicans, diplomats among the primarchs. Besides, how could the Emperor dispose 18 primarchs and hundreds of thousands of space marines?

The emperor designed the primarchs to be Chaos-proof.

The early years of the primarchs on their respective planets made them what they are, not the emperor.

I remember in Deliverance Lost, when Corax finds the genetic files, is explained that the Emperor designed his sons with specific abilities and specific flaws. So, even when the planet they were born in was a relevant thing in their lives they were already predestined to hold a particular role in the years to come.

What if our beloved Mortarion landed on Prospero ?

What if Russ landed on Nostramo ?

What if Magnus landed on Fenris ?

I think it is one of the flaws of the setting. In a strange way, every primarch landed on planet that will improve his natural skills. What if Magnus received butcher nails? Maybe the scattering of the primarchs wasn't a random event.

It wasn't though we all know that the emperor did it

You's are both right. Argel Tal severs the connection the geller fields have to the incubation pods so the gods can cause their vortex but the emperor has the chance to stop it. I think it's in galaxy in flames. The emperor stops the chaos the vortex is causing with a gesture and weighing up the countless possibilities in a heart beat lets the storm take the infant primarchs.

Not in thoughs exact words but something's similar. The fluff is from two different books from two different sources so its pretty jumbled up.

What if our beloved Mortarion landed on Prospero ?

What if Russ landed on Nostramo ?

What if Magnus landed on Fenris ?

1. He's get pwnd by psykers

2. He'd still be wolfy.  Wolfman? Batwolf? Who knows.

3. He'd probably be real cold, and shunned by literally all the Fenrisians.

I don't think Magnus would have cared if some two bit flea bitten savages shunned him or not he would have dominated them all the same.

I think of all the primarchs Magnus was the most dangerous not to have for either side. Probably why the separatist fought so hard to pull him to their cause.

trust goes both ways here. Some primarchs did horrible things because they trusted the Emperor (Guilliman on Monchoria). Magnus had to keep his word, after already lying about it once.

WLK

Trust really is the Crux of the Heresy. The Lion didn't trust any of the Primarchs; issue. The Emperor trusted Horus over Magnus; issue. Magnus didn't trust that the Emperor had a reason for saying no sorcery; issue. Horus didn't trust the Emperor leaving the Crusade; BIG issue.

Everything that went wrong was caused by either trust in the wrong places or a lack of it in the right ones.
