kinda
Hey Guys, I’ve been lurking in these halls for a couple of months now, while building up my own great company. Today I thought I’d make myself known, and share some of my work with you lot. All my wolves are upscaled and heavily converted using plasticard, milliput, greenstuff and everything else I could get my hands on. Every wolf has had their upper legs lengthened 1 mm, and has 2.5 mm of spine added. Their torso’s have been widened and thickened with 1 mm of plasticard each, and the upper arms have also been lengthened by 1 mm. This creates an overall look thats just BIGGER then normal marines, and I believe them to be better proportioned. I also adhere strictly to WYSIWYG, and as such each hunter will have a bolt pistol, a knife/chainsword/other CCW and a bolter on him, as well as grenades, pouches etc. Nothing has been painted yet, and I concider them all still to be “Works in Progress.” Arms havent been glued on yet where magnets aren’t going to be used. Shoulder guards, backpacksand heads are still tacked on, no glue used, to facilitate the coming painting. I noticed that my camera doesnt like the greenstuff/milliput and makes it look uneven/not smooth. While in some places this might be right, in most it will not be. Here are the first few: http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/WolfPriest.png My wolf priest in TDA. while not as points-efficient as runic armor, in TDA he's properly intimidating. http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/RunePriest.png Rune axe totin', GK TDA stealin' Rune Priest. When painted that pesky writing on his breastplate will be invisible. http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/LongFang.png This guy was my first finished Fenryka. Very pleased with him. http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/axeman.png Power Axe wielding hunter. his bolter is strapped to his butt plate. http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/Bran.png My incarnation of Bran Redmaw, who will lead this Great Company. Still messing about with his redmaw-incarnation. Thats it for today, and for a first post! Comments and suggestions are what I'm posting this for, so blast away! Zynk Kaladin
Welcome brother! Your power axe GH... I like him. I am stealing his design for my count-as grey hunter squad. Yoink! Keep up the great work! I like that you adhere to WYSIWYG in your model's detail. Personally, models don't seem complete without their standard gear. kinda
More pics of some squads, and the Iron Priest. http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/Hunters.jpg Half a squad of Grey Hunters. Shoulder pads are still missing, and a lot of stuff not yet glued on. http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/Scouts-1.jpg One of my scout squads. Knives and pistols. These guys hunt in scilence. http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/BloodClaws-1.jpg My Bloodclaws are more of an experiment. All freshy put in shiny new (identical) power Armor! I like William king's idea of claws not being allowed facial hair. Finding different heads for them proves challenging though.... All have a drilled out helmet that they refuse to put on. http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/IronPriest-1.jpg My Iron Priest. I plan to do one on a thunderwolf aswell, but those puppies are expensive. That's it for today! Forté
You have some fine ideas here. Look forward to seeing some paint on them too. And ignore the lemon zest smell. Zynk dropped by and it's him ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273176-my-great-company/#findComment-3334830 Share on other sites
Zynk Kaladin
My magnificent and highborn aroma is a temporary reprieve to the Fang's choking air. Are you going to greenstuff different hair styles for the Blood Claws? I'm not a huge fan of the mohawk (a filthy lowborn hair style). Also for your next five grey hunters it might be worth having some models aiming or looking right to add some variety. As it is now, they're all in relatively similar poses (except the power axe dude who I love dearly). kinda
Hey guys! I just finished modeling some thunderwolf riders. They've been standing on my desk for weeks, but im finally happy with the arms and weapons. here they are: http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/ThunderwolfChainsword-Boltpistol.png Basic weapons, a chainsword and a boltpistol. I think I'm gonna try and magnetize a meltabomb for him. Somehow. http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/Thunderwolfspear.png This guy is carrying a power spear and a bolt pistol. Aesthetically I like the spear a lot better then the fist, so i went with that. In any case, all 3 of these fella's are completely magnetized, so for gaming purposes I can always change it out. http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/Thunderwolfshield.png And number three is carrying a nice, big stormshield. Those stormshields from the thunderwolf kit are waaay too puny... Also, i'd like to ask you guys something. do any of you know of a good way to "wolfiefy" a landspeeder? I gave my guys different torso's and helmets, but other then scratching a few runes in the hull and sticking on some droppod space wolf markings... I'm out of idea's... It's just not wolfy enough. Well, thats it for now. Hope you enjoy it! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273176-my-great-company/#findComment-3338880 Share on other sites
kinda
Some more stuff! A size comparison shot: http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd481/kindawkward/Wolves/Sizecomparison.png Also had some work done on that Rune Priest. The belt-buckle thingy bit fitted it too perfectly not to stick it on there. thats it!
