jah-joshua
hey B&C...here is my final commission...after ten years booked solid, i'm ready to take some time for myself, return to competition, and improve my technique...this is a mash-up of the original metal Draigo and metal Calgar...needless to say, he weighs a ton...it was nice to get a chance to revisit the first Calgar Grand Master i did a couple years ago, as many people thought it lacked a bit of "Grey Knightness"...replacing Calgar's chest with a cast of Draigo's really makes a difference...a much more imposing version of Draigo, i think...i'm not sure why the client wanted him armed with a halberd, so i threw the sword on his hip for wysiwyg purposes...here is the link if you care to vote:http://www.coolminiornot.com/328728http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l266/jah-minis/forum%20pics/frontdraigosm_zps21fa3d4d.jpghttp://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l266/jah-minis/forum%20pics/sworddraigosm_zpsa454a466.jpghttp://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l266/jah-minis/forum%20pics/backdraigosm_zps8b67c36c.jpghttp://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l266/jah-minis/forum%20pics/sheilddraigosm_zps5e131ef6.jpgthanks for looking...i hope you like him...cheersjah
Tyrannicide
"Improve you're technique". Ha hahaha hah. Dude, you're one helluva painter. Love the conversion, it is much more imposing than Draigo's stock model. And of course some flawless paintwork on display. You really hit this one out of the park! :tu:
Saul Invictus
That is amazing, I wish I could say more, but my mind is too clouded with envy at your skills to be too nice.

Grotsmasha
Initial thoughts...I want one....second thoughts, I need to get better at painting. Absolutely outstanding mini, seriously jealous of both the client and your skills. Cheers, Jono
No Foes Remain
My first though when looking at him was "They see him rollin' they hatin'". Absolutely brilliant job there.
Artemid
That's one of the best minis I think I have ever seen, not to mention one of the best conversions! Absolutely brilliant. Leagues better than the regular Draigo model.
Brother Nezulius
As an Ultramarine player who has the Calgar mini, I must still admit that this conversion is even better then the origional. Great work!
Brother Callius
That looks amazing, great conversion work :) And by the way I think that the phrase "improve my technique" in the same post as these pictures are quite contradicting :)

jah-joshua
thanks guys... i had a lot of fun with this mini... funny enough, i never saw it complete until all the paint was finished, as i paint everything in seperate pieces... i was surprised to see how well the conversion worked... as for improving my technique, we all paint at different levels, and hopefully all aspire to get better... there are a lot of specific different painting techniques i haven't tried, such as NMM, monochrome, juicing, and such... other things, like water effects, complex display basing, duels, and dioramas are all things i want to explore... most of all, though, i want to improve my skills until i paint as good as the best in the world... there are many painters who are better than me, but i'm chasing them... my goal is to be ranked in the top 50 of CMON, win a Slayer Sword, P3 Grandmaster, and the Crystal Brush... so yeah, i'm pretty driven, but i have a long to go, and much to improve... might as well aim high, right??? cheers jah
