RastlinD
Guys I am looking to purchase a dremel for working with some models. Maily the drimel will be used on some old medal models to clean off old super glue and some plastic models to remove plastic that has been metled with super glue. It does not need to be a super expensive one but neither do I want something cheap that won't get the job done. Please let me know if you guys have a good recomendation. Thanks. Venerable Jazzman
I've got one of these, which are really good on metal, but are a bit too fast for plastic. Even the slowest speed of 15000rpm tends to melt the plastic rather than drill it. http://www.tizaro.com/product/PT1A4E/dremel-100-rotary-tool-kit-35-000-pc I haven't used one, but I've heard good things about the Minitools stuff, seem to be liked a lot by the military modelling fraternity. http://www.shesto.co.uk/Power-Tools/c232/index.html If you're getting a Dremel, get an adjustable chuck and one of the flexible extensions, they make it so much simpler to use. http://www.hteck.ca/metalworkings/flex_shaft_toolpost/dremel_flex_shaft.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8243/8460282415_8324d9719d.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273242-recommendations-for-dremel/#findComment-3336029 Share on other sites
