Papa Lazarou
Hi all I've been having a problem when washing with Argax earthshade and Carrosburg Crimson, they seem to leave a blueish chalky finish in places where it's dried. I shake the pots throughly before using and have tried to dilute it with a bit of water too but still the same. Anybody have any ideas of the cause or a solution? DarkMark
Not heard of this I'm afraid. Maybe try adding a touch of GW Lahmian medium? I use the stuff for all sorts of things so it might be worth a go. Ammonius
I was having the same problem, and I switched to diluting with distilled water, and being really careful to limit/eliminate any "pooling" of the wash. This has solved 99% of my residue problems. The remaining times, when I still have a thin line of bluish white, I use a detail brush and apply a tiny amount Nuln Oil wash (black) at full concentration to the residue. The Sound of Machines
I've been told that's due to water getting into the wash, probably due to a wet brush. HOWEVER, I don't believe it :). But that's what the GW staff told me at the local - sounds like a Lahmian Medium selling technique, but it's a really annoying problem. I make/use other washes to make it less likely to happen. All the best! Luke Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273256-wash-problems/#findComment-3337368 Share on other sites
