Deathwatch/Grey knight
I'm just re-reading the heresy series and I'm confused this might have been done been before But in the flight of the eseinstien it says that Saul tarvits is the first captain which is what I prefer the first four books that showed the emperors children because we didn't hear anything about Solomon on istvan III and fulgrum confused me this is why I think each author should just stay on one legion for example no one can do a better job on the alpha legion then Dan abnett don't get me wrong mike lee did a great job with fallen angels And the first for four were great authors and I liked fulgrum but was still confused but its like a thousand sons and prospero burns both went well with eacother but their were a few points that didn't link and who else could do a better job with the first heretict I hope this makes sense What are your thoughts brothers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273418-emperors-children/ Share on other sites
malika666
Tarvitz's rank as a captain of the Emperor's Children has been constant throughout the series. However, depending on the book, the company which he is attached to differs. In False Gods, Tarvitz is only described as a captain, with no company assigned. However, in Galaxy In Flames and Flight of the Eisenstein he is mentioned consistently as the First Captain of the Emperor's Children and in Fulgrim that honour is assigned to Julius Kaesoron, with Tarvitz assigned to the 10th Company. Raven Angel
I think the confusion comes from the way EC does it ranks. As near as I can decipher from all the HH references and FW Book 1 Tarvits is the most senior Captain of the 10th company of Lord Commander Eidelon's Millennial(chapter). The the Rank structure of the ECs is complex and no specific exemplar of their Table of Organization is provided. Book1 implies that hey adhere to a setup very similar to the original Legion ToO If this is the case then there should be at least 1 if not 2 officers directly between Tarvits and Eidelon that we never meet. It is also possible the EC Captain = Legion Lieutenant in which case Tarvits commands the first 50 man detachment of the 10th company composed of 2 20man tac squads and 1 10man support squad.
