Hello all. I figured I'd start one of these things to keep me motivated. Not a whole lot painted, but I'm hoping that will change.

 

I'll probably be pretty slow, since I just started using green stuff and fell in love. Probably going to be using it a lot these days.

 

I also don't own a computer, let alone have Internet other than on my phone. Which pulls double duty as my camera.

I appreciate the replies. I probably never would have even attempted green stuff, had some local hobby shop goers told me a cape I did looked great. I'm extremely pleased with the results. I will be slapping that claw on an assault sgt, without packs.

 

I have an overwhelming urge to paint it right now, even though its been drying less than 12 hours.

Little update, as I've been visiting family I haven't had the time to really sit down and get to work. However, by trading a few hours of sleep for a few nights, I do have this to show y'all. A little "sneak peak" if you will.

Nice! Looks like a suit of Mk8 Artificer Armour :D

 

Other than a couple of mold lines you've got some nice models going :)

 

As for the chapter name how about the "Terran Brotherhood"? I think it would fit very well given the earthy tones of your palette, plus it would provide a link to having the Imperial Fists as your Primogenitors; if you would be interested in that angle?

I have thought about the imperial fists, however I just read brotherhood of the snake... And now I'm thinking about cleaning all my paint off and starting over, especially with the fact that when I bought 99% of this, I wasn't even thinking about mold lines. Now I see them, and they bug me incessantly.

 

Right now I'm trying to focus most of my efforts on sculpting and making some awesome conversions as well as scraping mold lines off of all of my primed models. And let's not forget, saving money for a couple of those forgeworld mk III and IV squads. Plus the captain and power weapon set.

 

Here soon, I would like to finalize a paint job, but it's pretty hard to use the army painter on my phone, so it's the old fashion way on my minis.

That's about all I've done lately. The termie in the back is my counts as Lysander. Arms magnetized, and I've got a bunch more 7/64 magnets for my assault/ tactical squad, all my terminators, and devastators. Hopefully I'll get to painting more than bases before too long.

Just a little update. I think this will be the color scheme. Brown just didn't seem space marine enough to me. So here it goes. That and I love the sea green? Color of the sons of Horus, but I just can't bring myself to love all the armor that color.

I haven't quite figured out what I'll do to differentiate the sternguard from the tacticals yet, but it'll probably just be some kind of helmet color or pouches, scopes and what have you.

I like the colorscheme on the sternguard. Nice work on the bases too.

 

Your conversion with fur on the GD sarge kind of highlights the similarity in his face to Coteaz. Never noticed that before.

I love the coteaz model, however I do have a supreme hatred for all things inquisition. Probably stemming from my early years learning to play and one of the fellas played GK and was a terribly sore winner. I've been slowly getting my revenge on every GK player I've met since.

 

Anyways, glad you like. Wish I had more time to paint, so I could show more off. Only about 100 more tactical/dev/assault marines to go. And all the mold lines to go with them. Eventually I'll try to have at least a few tac and dev squads done. Too much overtime at work I reckon.

Just going to touch up a few things here and there. Little cables on the feet. Once that's all done, I'll post up an all sides photo. The soft armor needs highlighting as well. And he may get new lenses painted, depends on how froggy I'm feeling.

Currently waiting on some primer to dry, but in the meantime I'll show y'all my new twin linked heavy flamer. Since I just bought 2 new drop pods, the iron clad I was planning on taking one of them will have to wait.

 

I played a game against the tau Saturday afternoon, and all I could think was "boy I'd love to drop some flamer templates on all those boys in the back." So here's a new arm for the dreadnought until my finances will allow for an ironclad.

I could make it a lot prettier I think, but once I have an ironclad, I doubt I'll ever use it again.

1st squad melta gunner. He's popped quite a few tanks in his day, so I wanted his shoulder pads to reflect a little bit. Hence the death company wingy thing and the mk 5? I think. The trim needs a little touch up and highlight, but over all I'm satisfied.

Due to my recent move to a new town, I have done almost nothing except look at some of the amazing threads in the wip section. And because of that, my own progress grinded to a halt until just recently.
