Apahllo
like all of sons of fenris, I wish to drop into the flames of hell with the greatest of wolves. I've been playing with the fell handed lord, bjorn, and achieved varying levels of success. He soaks up amazing amounts of firepower and with front armor 13 has almost nothing to fear in close combat. But he creates a lot of commotion and doesn't go anywhere very fast. So I'm planning on using the dread pod from forgeworld. based on what I've heard it allows you to do its seems to be the perfect fit for bjorn. But I don't know the rules, so I was hoping if some one with knowledge or the proper imperial armor will fill me in, i can deliver justice with the great old wolf from turn 1. Blacksad
it's an assaultvehicle for dreads, but if you assault out of it, you're taking dangerous terraintests, basicly. Apahllo
it's an assaultvehicle for dreads, but if you assault out of it, you're taking dangerous terraintests, basicly. That's interesting, drawbacks are expected but assaulting upon arriving from reserves seems invaluable to me. Was hoping someone with imperial armor could fill me in but I guess I'll just have to go find one. skeletoro
Yep, that's right. You can drop and assault on turn 1, but dreadnoughts only. It's a fast attack choice (not dedicated transport) and costs a few dozen extra points over a normal drop pod. Dangerous terrain immobilizes you on a 1, but I believe bjorn's invulnerable save applies. So it's a 1/9 chance of being immobilized rather than 1/6.
