Reasonable Commissar
With the models coming out from FW I was thinking of starting some allied Mechanicus and was wondering what people think of these and the weapon options? Also is one of the weapon options missing as I cant find the stats for one of them although I cant remember the name right now? Jim AMM realgenius
BFG 9000? I think you mean "BFG 30,000". That's right, it is over 9000. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273620-mechanicum-thallax/#findComment-3341413 Share on other sites
depthcharge12
BFG 9000?I think you mean "BFG 30,000". That's right, it is over 9000. His power level...."IT'S OVER 9000!" Where is the irad engine? Is it for the Mechanicus land raider? I can't find it and all I see is the irad cleanser for the Thallax Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273620-mechanicum-thallax/#findComment-3341533 Share on other sites
[TA]Typher
I don't think the Mechanicum should be all that powerful. Because it throws the balance in warhammer way off. If they were as tough (or tougher) than Space Marines why would they need marine protection and why would they have sided with the imperium? Jim AMM realgenius
Where is the irad engine? Is it for the Mechanicus land raider? Yeah, I can't find it either. Maybe a future book? I didn't see it on the Mech Land Raider, and wasn't a sneak option somewhere in the special Mech HQ. Dosjetka
Quick question: I saw somewhere that Thallax can be chosen as a Heavy Support option in Legion armies, which I'd love, but I can only see them as an option for a Mechanicum Allied Detachment. Am I missing something or are Thallax Cohorts only allowed in an Allied Detachment? Cheers, Ludovic Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273620-mechanicum-thallax/#findComment-3342035 Share on other sites
Reasonable Commissar
Ah it was the Phase-Plasma Fusil I couldnt find it anywhere. Has anyone tried them out in game yet or got any opinions on how could they are? Id like to use an Avenger flyer as the Stormeagle is a bit poop but it would mean taking Mechanicus allies. Pavel Araghast
Well, allied detachment with mechanicum techpriest, thallaxi cohort with lighting guns and avenger strike fighter will greatly accompany IW or IH army, even now I can see them as attachment for my SoH army, but I think I'll not add them before I reach 2500 points of SoH. That tough scoring with some allied assault tanks can make a right turn in hard battle. Or provide great air support. FW made great lists so we can field so many combinations. Which of it will prove themselves great only playtesting can tell, so thats was more theory. Reasonable Commissar, you can take a look at that list though for thallaxi builds. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/271568-ordo-reductor-lists/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273620-mechanicum-thallax/#findComment-3342066 Share on other sites
Reasonable Commissar
Apart from more Bolter marines (damn 20 man squads) Ive got around 2.5k EC now but theres still some stuff I want for them and then to start on the Mechanicus stuff. Ive wanted a Mechanicus army for ages though so I can easily see my "Allied" list turning into a full blown Mechanicus army. Durfast Spiritwolf
I don't think the Mechanicum should be all that powerful. Because it throws the balance in warhammer way off. If they were as tough (or tougher) than Space Marines why would they need marine protection and why would they have sided with the imperium? If you're playing any 40K or Horus Heresy list in Warhammer then it'll be a problem for your opponent Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273620-mechanicum-thallax/#findComment-3342640 Share on other sites
Reasonable Commissar
Not so much its still quite well balanced when playing against a lot of normal 40k stuff. The Mechanicum were pretty hard but a lot smaller than the Imperium. Durfast Spiritwolf
I guess I need to be more obvious in my humour - 'Warhammer' is normally reserved for the fantasy game ;-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273620-mechanicum-thallax/#findComment-3343667 Share on other sites
Reasonable Commissar
I dunno I think using the Warhammer rules then the fantasy armies could be likely to win.
