Rune Priest Ridcully
6th ed has not been fun for my Thousand sons, and so I am thinking of giving them a rest and using either my Iyanden eldar or my sons of russ again, I must admit my wolves it is mainly because I found some old metal space wolf terminators when sorting my room after getting back from uni, and they are some of my favorite models in 40k. However, I am split on which to take with me to uni next term, and so I'm thinking what is the fluffyness of Iyanden and Space wolf allies? Forté
Leave Iyanden behind. The furryness of the Wolves is always a better bet for a bit of fun. Forté
But beards, ale and axes are a trio of awesomeness! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273666-returning-to-the-fang-or-at-least-part-time/#findComment-3342802 Share on other sites
Rune Priest Ridcully
Axe? Give me a hammer or fist any time of day And yes, I have decided to use my wolves fully, the troops tax kills any idea of allied eldar So how much have wolves changed since the current codex came out? (I switched to eldar and Thousand sons fully a few months after it came out). Here's what I'm thinking of using at 1000pts: Wolf Priest Loki Javert with Runic Armour and Wolf tooth necklace 130pts Grey hunter pack Hadrada: 10 Grey hunter with Power fist and 2 melta guns 185pts Grey hunter pack Larrson: 10 Grey hunters with Power swordand 2 plasma guns 175pts Wolf Guard Pack: 5 Wolf Guard 4 Suits of terminator armour, Assault cannon, 3 power fists and Wolf claws (pair) 240pts Long fang pack Vjald: 5 long fangs with 2 misslie launchersand 2 Plasma cannons135pts Long fang pack Numehan: 5 Long fangs with 2 heavy boltersand 2 Lascannons 135pts Total:1000pts Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273666-returning-to-the-fang-or-at-least-part-time/#findComment-3343078 Share on other sites
Ghostwolfalpha
Lots of solid units and plenty of room for fluffy armies. Tactics have shifted a bit due to flyers, but SW do best when working in groups where they can support one another. Drop pods seem to be the best defense against flyers, if your in cc, you cant be shot. Plus, it is really where they belong. We at the Fang will support you however we can, unless you side with the puny xenos. Never trust a race that cant grow a beard. Forté
I'd swing your GH toward Power Axes over Fists and Swords. Taylor your WG to the pack they are with. Maybe try a dual Plasma Pistol WGPL with the plasma gun pack and add the Wolf Priest so they get rerolls from preferred enemy. Long Fangs can be 6 strong with 5 heavy weapons too don't forget. Rune Priest Ridcully
I always forget they can be up to 6, I made my packs under the previous codex Can units use two pistols at the same time if they them? The idea was the lightning claw Wolf guard would go with the melta gun pack, and one of the terminators, possibly the assault cannon one, would go with the plasma gun pack. Do axes will really outclass power fists and power swords that much? They are almost certain death for the chaos marines to use Also, would it be worth dropping something to try and fit a land speeder or a dreadnought in?
