Aqui
Have a great time folks. Would be nice to see some photos of your armies in battle (blatant hint). Cheers Not pics from today, as I forgot I had two battles however. First opponent was GC08 with his legendary counts as Sisters army. I lost 11 points to 3 :lol Second match was against Blood Angels, although I don't know my opponents forum name. I also lost in that one Had a lot of fun, which was the important thing There's going to be a 4 a side match tomorrow. Sisters, Ba, Ultramarines and my Rainbow Warriors, although I'll have to use a few Steel Wings to cover for the short fall. I'll try to take as many pics as possible. I'm shattered as I had a school reunion last night and the hotel company messed my reservation although I am in a hotel in the centre at twice the cost which the company is giving the money back for, so could be worse. Anyway, I'm. Going to try to sleep in the sweatbox I've been given whilst the whole of Nottingham parties on Blasted mobile device! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/273697-ultra-meet-this-year/page/5/#findComment-3407900 Share on other sites
greatcrusade08
just got back, am shattered, but another great weekend.. poor aquilanus and his hotel booking, overbooking is really not cool. I played 3 games on the saturday and surprised everyone of my opponents with the blue horde, 100 power armoured models is not easy to shift. the big game was quite interesting, at first it went badly, Ctan took the cheeselord stormlord, so night fighting and 4+ steal initiative really cost us in the first turn.. we only played 3 turns in the end as it was well over 10k of minis on the table, but we manged to scrape it back a bit. hopefully the guys will have some good pics of the game, i know andy was filming too, so ill see if i can get hold of the footage. saturday we saw Graham McNeill, had our 5 year celebratory cake too, which was jolly good. hes currently working on the HH book vengeful spirit (horus flagship).. he did say it had a double/triple meaning and would show the return to the fore of the sons of horus and loken. after hes finished this, he will be finishing gods of mars (mechanicus), and another HH book scheduled for early next year. And (although we are crediting crossatron here) he will be writing the space marine battle book next summer.. the battle for macragge.. Cross suggested to him he write it at last years meet, since then Graham has managed to wrangle it with the powers that be.. Aqui
poor aquilanus and his hotel booking, overbooking is really not cool.Indeed. However, as long as the company honour what they said over the phone, I will get the money I paid for back, so it could have been worse. I didn't let that hiccup ruin this week end. It was a lot of fun. I played 3 games on the saturday and surprised everyone of my opponents with the blue horde, 100 power armoured models is not easy to shift.Having a horde that large come at you, when you're outnumbered nearly 3-1 isn't something I want to repeat any time soon! After the last battle, seeing my Calgar counts-as use orbital bombardment, I'll have to try that out (and a few other ideas I've been given) for the rematch the big game was quite interesting, at first it went badly, Ctan took the cheeselord stormlord, so night fighting and 4+ steal initiative really cost us in the first turn.. we only played 3 turns in the end as it was well over 10k of minis on the table, but we manged to scrape it back a bit. hopefully the guys will have some good pics of the game, i know andy was filming too, so ill see if i can get hold of the footage. I'm just in the middle of resizing the ones I have. I made sure that no ones faces are in them (although that means some will be at groin/knee level ) Shouldn't be too long until they're up. saturday we saw Graham McNeill, had our 5 year celebratory cake too, which was jolly good. hes currently working on the HH book vengeful spirit (horus flagship).. he did say it had a double/triple meaning and would show the return to the fore of the sons of horus and loken. after hes finished this, he will be finishing gods of mars (mechanicus), and another HH book scheduled for early next year. Cross suggested to him he write it at last years meet, since then Graham has managed to wrangle it with the powers that be.. Sounds good. I wonder how much he'll laugh if I ask him to do a Rainbow Warriors short? A very good weekend in all (even though Invasion! was being run today - was very noisy and ol' cloth ears here had trouble hearing what others were saying ) Thanks to everyone who helped me play the games - a lot of patience shown to me. Also to those who helped me out when the news about the room dropped. Very grateful Edit: Pictures! For those who have never been to Warhammer World - this is what you see when you arrive: The table for the 8 army battle before army set up: The line up of the Imperial forces: From top left to bottom right - Sisters, Blood Angels, Ultramarines Fourth Company, Rainbow Warriors (with some Steel Wings to cover the short fall) Fourth Company. Close up of UM Fourth and RW Fourth Companies: UM Fourth Company: Other side with Sisters: View of Imperial forces whilst the Xenos (From left to right - 'Crons, Orks, Tau, Eldar/Dark Eldar) set up: Closer picture of Xenos set up: And another: If I recall correctly, this was near the end of turn one. One contribution to the cause was my counts as Calgar getting an Eldar vehicle and a few Eldar off the table and away from the Sisters using Orbital Bombardment. My Rainbow Warriors managed to kill ten or so 'Cron warriors at the bottom. My Venerable Dreadnought had been crippled by this point.: Also end of turn one: The Croissants of Death on the move. I think this was after they took out a combat squad and two Marines of mine in the ruin at the bottom of the table: My Assault squad move to cover the gap left by the killed Combat squad: The Ork faction had taken a significant hit, with two Kopta's taken out, a bike squad, Kans, buggy and some Boys, a triple threat of Blood Angels, Ultras and my Ironclad Dread: At the top Lysander and a Termi squad disembark. Later in the game Lysander and the Termi's are finished off by a large group of Eldar (not sure of the specifics - I do know that Dire Avengers were part of it) Mephiston near the centre on a mission to take out a contingent of Tau at the ruin centre top of picture. The Ultras Storm Raven makes an appearance: As does the Blood Angels': I don't have any running up to the last moments. The game ended as WHW was closing, with both sides fully able to have won. I hesitate to state the result was a draw, but I dare say that next year, the desire to finish what was started will be very high! Looking forward to it! Captain Idaho
Dang I'm so jealous of your great time. I'm glad they're eventually making a Battle for Maccragge book. It's so important to the background. McNeill will smash it I'm sure. Good games. Machine God
Hello Guy's. I'm glad that you had a great time. @Aquilanus - Nice pictures. By the way what AV does the structure have that is featured in the first photo's? The one that looks suspiciously like a bottle of Lucozade. Aqui
Hello Guy's. I'm glad that you had a great time. @Aquilanus - Nice pictures. By the way what AV does the structure have that is featured in the first photo's? The one that looks suspiciously like a bottle of Lucozade. That's not Lucozade, that distilled Chaos energy. No AV value, as you roll two d6 and look on the catastrophic event table: 1. The imbiber fails to snap out of their fugue. They remain lifeless and unresponsive until check is made again. 2. The imbiber regains a small measure of strength back. Roll again next turn to see if it lasts. 3-4. The imbiber carries on as normal. 6. The imbiber has taken too much and thewarp has taken them. Roll 2d6+6 with the scatter dice. This determines the direction they wander in, causing havok as they go. Any gamer in their path MUST take a leadership test or be locked in combat. If the victim is carrying food, it might survive the assault. Roll against initiative. If the victim is carrying models, the MUST Take an iniative test with a-2 penalty. The victim must choose between defending themselves in which cases the models are dropped and suffer from d6 strong 8 wounds, or face the assault with -3 initiative and -1 attacks.
